We’re bored, you’re bored, everyone’s bored! Luckily, we’ve got a bunch of fun Disney activities to keep us entertained.
We’ve learned how to make Disney shrinky-dinks and your very own Disney scratch-and-sniff stickers but we’ve got a NEW craft for you today. We’re gonna walk you through how to paint rocks just like your fave Star Wars friends, Chewbacca and the Porgs! If you’re wanting to paint your very own Chewie and Porg pals, read on!
What You’ll Need
- Medium, Oval-shaped Rocks
- Black, White, Brown, Blue, and Pink Acrylic Paint
- Paint Brushes
Instructions
Ok, now that you’ve gathered your materials, we can get started! First up, begin by washing your rocks and letting them dry completely. Once your rocks are dry, look up some pictures of Chewbacca and the Porgs to decide what facial expression you want for them!
On your Chewbacca rock, start by painting it completely brown. Then you can set aside your Chewie rock for now, because it’s time to tackle the Porg! You’ll want to paint the sides brown for the Porg rock and then paint a little brown v-shape at the top.
Grab your white paint and fill in alllll that middle space on the Porg rock. Then, once the paint is all dry, grab some black paint and make the iconic Porg eyes with a smile or frown and a nose! Once all the BLACK paint is dry, grab that white paint again and make reflections in its eyes.
And for the finishing touches mix together the black and white paint to make a grey. Use your new paint color to add feathers to the Porg’s belly! And voila! Let the little guy dry completely and then grab your Chewie rock from earlier.
After painting your Porg, the brown paint on Chewbacca should be completely dry. So, use white paint to make two half-circles for Chewie’s eyes near the top of the rock. Then, paint a small black oval for his nose and use the pink paint to draw on a little mouth.
You can use the blue paint to create his irises and then, once that is dry, go back in with black for the pupils. Get a little dot of grey paint and add it to Chewie’s nose for some shine! Using the white paint, add two small fangs to the mouth and some reflections to the eyes.
Finally, grab that black paint one more time and detail Chewie’s fur. And you’re done! Once both of your rocks are completely dry you’ll have new Chewbacca and Porg pals to hang with. This sure seems like a fun at-home activity to us.
Maybe THIS is what we’ll be getting into on May 4th, that’s Star Wars Day!
