Since Disney World extended its closure, we aren’t entirely sure when the parks will be reopening.
Currently, guests can make hotel and dining reservations in Disney World for June 1st and beyond. But what about guests with May vacations planned? Disney has slowly but surely been canceling guest reservations.
Disney World has started to cancel reservations up to May 16th. Park hours have also been removed from My Disney Experience for these dates.
If you think your trip might be affected by these new dates, you can modify or cancel your reservations up until your original check-in date. If no action is taken, you’ll automatically receive the appropriate refunds to your account and Disney will cancel most of your dining and experience reservations. Make sure to check in your Disney account that everything is canceled correctly! If you’ve booked through a Travel Agent, contact them to deal with modifications.
Remember, guests affected by the closures have access to a special offer that includes a FREE Dining Plan! Check it out!

I’ve booked a hotel in Dec. I love Florida in winter. Best time of year here in FL!
Jojo says
I still have my for May 4th. Plus you can make fast passes on 5/10. False news
Aaron says
“Begun cancelling”
“Has started”
Hold tight Jojo! 🙂
Dave says
Weird Jojo, my May 7-11 trip fp’s got cancelled last week? Automatically
B Richards says
I have reservations coming up for OKW on May 17th. I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll at least open the hotels and Disney Springs, with limitations, at that time. To hear that they are canceling UP TO May 16th is somewhat of a relief. There still might be a slight chance that I’ll still get to go. I don’t do the parks, at least not on this particular visit. Don’t you all just miss Disney and the experience? I sure do! Dying to get back home!
B Richards says
This comment is for Jojo. There is NO way that your trip is on for May 4th. I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer here but that is not gonna happen. You said that this article is false news but it is not. Where did you read that you can make fast passes on 5/10? Give a link source. Thanks.
B Richards says
Jojo. Go to this link all the way down to “Fast Pass+” https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/travel-information/. It contradicts the claim that you can actually make Fast Pass reservations.
Brandon says
We have a trip booked for June 28th. Hopefully fingers crossed.
Jeff says
Disney began canceling all dining reservations for my May 4th trip two weeks ago. All that’s left is the hotel package which will most likely be cancelled Monday 4/27.

Disney needs to start reopening hotels and Disney springs and the parks. The governor of Florida is reopening Florida this week so Disney should reopen to. Plus Disney is the most prepared to reopen. The governor of Florida and the news have both said it.
Erin says
Disney does not want to go down in history as a hotspot or the cause of a second wave or anything negative. They don’t care what the governor or the news say; they will make their own timeline and be as cautious as possible in their reopening. A few weeks or a couple of months now could save them potentially many, many months, and a major hit to their reputation, down the line. No one wants to be the theme park version of Typhoid Mary.
Margaret D says
@Erin – Totally agree.
Candice says
This is for B. Richards. Are you booked so you can see Herman’s Hermits on the 17th as we are also? We live near Orlando and have DVC, but have just booked a dining reservation on the 17th for early access to seating for the concert. We’ve gone to Herman’s Hermits for as long as they’ve been coming to Flower & Garden every year at Epcot. Hope we all get to keep our reservations.
Rachel Naranjo says
I had dinning reservations at Beaches and Cream Soda Shop for May 16. It was automatically cancelled on April 24th. Assuming the rest of my vacation at the Beach Club 🥺 will follow suit. It’s for our own safety. There will be happier days to come.
Lisa R says
I just got the dreaded WDW email telling me my trip needs to be canceled or modified and it was scheduled over Memorial Day weekend. I figured that would happen.
Jeffrey Majette says
Disney began sending multiple notices for me to modify or cancel my May 4th reservation.
I just called and cancelled today (April 29).

Hi we are looking for a little bit of advice, we have a package holiday with dining plan booked through Disney for 10th August 2020 . Currently we are uncertain if our holiday will go ahead due to the current flight restrictions between the UK and the USA. If the flight restriction where to be lifted, and we decide we no longer want to go in August due to all the changes, cancellations and uncertainties, has any one had any experience in trying to change or cancel a holiday with Disney for a package Holiday that is booked after their opening date of July 15th.
DFB Sarah says
Jarrod, I feel like there’s a dearth of information for international visitors, so hopefully we will get more clarification. It seems from the DFB comments and followers that changes are being made for folks with lots of different dates, so I think your best bet is to contact Disney directly when you’re able.
