The state of Florida has begun reopening its retail and dining businesses, and there has been some speculation over when we may see shops and restaurants open at locations like Disney Springs and Universal’s CityWalk.
According to Attractions Magazine, it seems as though CityWalk, the shopping and dining district at the Universal Orlando Resort, is planning a partial reopening next week.
Wait staff and employees at both the Starbucks location in CityWalk as well as Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville received notice today that all restaurants at CityWalk are planning to reopen on Monday, May 11.
We have yet to hear an official announcement from Universal regarding any reopenings, nor have we heard an official announcement from any of the dining locations in City Walk. The Universal Orlando Resort has been closed since mid-March, and on April 9 it was announced that the parks, as well as CityWalk, would remain closed through at least May 31.
If these locations do indeed open on May 11, it would be a notable shift from their April 9 announcement. That announcement did state that Universal will “continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed, based on guidance from health agencies and government officials.”
