Talk about some “pent-up demand!” As you’ll recall, due to the temporary closure, Disney World had to cancel its Star Wars Rival Run Weekend which was to take place in April this year.
And today, general registration (which was initially postponed) for the 2021 runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend opened! But faster than the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy (a.k.a. The Millenium Falcon!), all of the spots are almost ALL GONE!
Usually, it takes a little while for some of these events to sell-out, with certain runDisney races not booking up until closer to the BIG DAY! But even though the 2021 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is over 238 days away, almost all of the races have already SOLD OUT!
We’re not sure if the 2021 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend sold out so quickly because the demand is simply that high or if Disney is potentially selling fewer tickets. Whatever the case may be, the only race that is still open for registration at this time is the Disney Castaway Cay Challenge which requires a separate Disney Cruise Line package to participate!
The 2021 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is still scheduled to take place on January 6th through January 10th in 2021! If you were planning on running this year, we hope you were lucky enough to snag your tickets, otherwise, you might have to wait until June 16th, 2020, when the 2021 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend registration opens!

I’m so happy that I was able to get my entry!! I’ve never seeing Disney marathon tickets sale that fast before!
Diana says
We never even got a chance as it was only passholders who could register. Even the charity partner slots are gone!
Laurie says
Something had to be wrong. They didn’t post the link on Twitter or any of their social pages, which they *always* do. Then it was “SOLD OUT” right at 10 am? I’d love official word from Disney on this…
SJ says
I’m a passholder, I got online at 10:46 and the Princess run was already sold out! Hiw does that happen?
Josh says
Princess 5K and half marathon were already sold out by about 10:25 actually, my wife having been waiting since 9:50 and trying to submit the completed forms at that time
David says
I tried registering for the Fairy Tale Challenge at 10:00 and never got past the ‘loading’ screen. I then tried registering for the half at 10:20 without success – the whole thing was sold out by 10:30…unbelievable
Andrea Nesci says
Does anyone know if they sold out so fast because of limited tickets? Maybe more will be available later on pending covid-19 updates?
Josh says
Both my wife and I tried general registration for the Princess races today. I was in line with 2 computers by 9:35, but by the time I was through the line at 10:30! all but the 5K was sold out. So crazy. I would be surprised if they are even doing 25% capacity at this point in time.
Susan says
Was on right at 10:00 for Disney Challenge. Processed my credit card and then said it was sold out and I was not registered. Very disappointing especially since I was supposed to run 10k portion with a friend who actually got registered. Should have been registered if payment processed. Have to wait up to five days to have money put back in my account.
