Recently, we shared that Broadway will remain dark through the summer season. Currently, the heart of New York City’s theatre district will remain closed through at least September 6, 2020.
When the curtains rise on Broadway once again, there will be one less musical for audiences to see.
According to The New York Times, Frozen will not reopen, meaning that the show played its final performance in March before all of Broadway closed due to the current health crisis.
This will mean that the only Disney musicals running on Broadway are The Lion King and Aladdin.
Currently, there are a number of international productions in the works for Frozen, including productions in Japan, Germany, Australia, and the West End in London. Certain set and costume pieces will be repurposed for those productions to help reduce waste. There is also a U.S. touring production that is currently halted due to the health crisis.
We will continue to update you on this situation if anything changes.

Sad news. I never got to see it. I wonder if they will still do tours though.
