These delicious eats are gone, but definitely not forgotten!
It seems like things at Disney World are constantly changing — including the menus! And while we’re always thrilled to see a delicious new snack, sometimes these shakeups mean losing our favorites as well! Here are ten dearly departed Disney World menu triumphs that we want back!!
Mickey Celebration Donut
Oh, how sad we were when this sweet treat disappeared! The absolutely GIANT Mickey Celebration Donut popped up in Magic Kingdom in honor of Mickey’s 90th birthday. It was introduced as a limited-time offering and moved around to a few different homes over the past year, including The Lunching Pad and Main Street Bakery, before it disappeared in January 2020.
This huge donut was offered in strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla flavors, and it was the perfect mix of adorable and delicious! Here’s hoping for a surprise return of the Mickey Celebration Donut!

Churro Ice Cream Sandwich
Here’s another Magic Kingdom treat that we reallllly miss! The Churro Ice Cream Sandwich was served at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments and we still dream about this delicious dessert!
The ingredients were surprisingly simple — hand-scooped vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two cookie-shaped churros!
In March 2020, the Churro Ice Cream Sandwich vanished, being replaced by just the standard chocolate chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich. We think this is a solid option as well, but we loved experiencing such a classic Disney dessert in a new and delicious way!

Hei Hei Cone
We’ve seen a TON of character cones and floats at Disney recently! Some of them have definitely been better than others, and one of our favorite options was the Hei Hei Cone from Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom!
A tribute to the lovable sidekick from the movie Moana, this treat was made with a blue cone filled with both Pineapple Dole Whip and Raspberry Dole Whip, topped with sugar-piece “eyes” and a sour candy “comb.”
This was another item that was released as a limited-time offering and the Hei Hei Cone bowed out of the parks in May 2019. This was one of our favorite character cones — it was both tasty AND super Instagramable!
We’ve seen newer themed cones come out since then, like the Arendelle Aqua cone at Storybook Treats this past fall and winter, so you never know what might show up next! And luckily, the raspberry Dole Whip flavor stuck around at Aloha Isle!
Take a look at more of the limited-time character cones we’ve seen at Disney World!
Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup at Refreshment Port
Okay, we’re talking about the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup that was sold SPECIFICALLY at the Refreshment Port location in Epcot — in other words, don’t panic, it’s still on the menu at Le Cellier Steakhouse!
A few years ago, this iconic menu item made its way to the quick-service location near the entrance of the World Showcase. AND, it was snack credit eligible for those on the Disney Dining Plan! This was a huuuuge deal, because it gave us the chance to enjoy this delicious cheesy, bacony soup without snagging a hard-to-get reservation at a pricy steakhouse!
But sadly, this warm bowl of happiness is no longer available on the Refreshment Port menu. While it does regularly pop up on the Epcot Food and Wine Festival menu at the Canada Booth, we’d love to see it earn a permanent spot again at a quick service location!
Here are the menu items we hope to see return at this year’s Epcot Food and Wine Festival!
Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup Poutine
We’re not headed far at all for our next pick — in fact, we’re just scanning down the menu a bit! Back in the good old days when Refreshment Port served the above-mentioned soup, they also served a Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup Poutine! This salty snack consisted of french fries topped with the cheddar cheese soup AND cheese curds. And it was OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD!
This gave us a new way to experience two of our favorite things — poutine and cheddar cheese soup (oh yeah — and MORE cheese!). But alas, when the soup was removed from the menu, so was this specialty poutine. Refreshment Port does still serve up some poutine options though, so at least there is a silver lining in this story!
Looking for more poutine?? Here are six must-try poutines at Disney World!
Hot Diggity Dog of the Month
For most of 2018-2019 in Magic Kingdom, Casey’s Corner featured a different Hot Diggity Dog of the Month each month of the year! And while some of them were definitely a little odd (we didn’t love the Cheesy Hot Diggity Dog with stale cheese puffs), there were some super fun standouts!
Both the Buffalo Chicken Hot Diggity Dog and the Loaded Mashed Potato Hot Diggity Dog were big winners in our book.
They haven’t done these in a few months, so we’re hoping they start up again once the parks reopen.

Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl
If you head to Columbia Harbor House in Magic Kingdom, you can still order yourself a bowl of New England Clam Chowder. BUT, sadly, the bowl won’t be edible (and we don’t suggest you try with the paper version!). This location used to serve up their chowder in a delicious, carby bread bowl that really took the comfort food factor to the next level.
We’ve seen clam chowder bread bowls pop up briefly at other locations like Dockside Diner, but none of them seem to stick around for long. C’mon Disney, give us back the Columbia Harbor House Bread Bowl!
Dockside Diner Specialty Milk Shakes
Formerly known as Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner, this Disney’s Hollywood Studios quick service location has trimmed more than just its name over the years!
In the past, they’ve offered some truly incredible specialty milkshakes. From the Cinnamon Sweet Churro Milkshake, to the Black Forest Milkshake, and the Star Wars-inspired Blue Milkshake, the humble Dockside Diner was a pioneer of inventive shakes!
The regular menu does feature a Kahlúa and Baileys Milkshake, but as far as the non-alcoholic flavors they’re pretty basic — chocolate and vanilla. We weep for these awesome specialty flavors that deserve a home!
Check out these over-the-top milkshakes at Beaches and Cream for your crazy shake fix!
BLT Waffle Fries
Waffle fries are the ultimate base for loading on the toppings. And Golden Oak Outpost in Magic Kingdom has taken full advantage of that! Their menu still features several topped-waffle fries but one of our favorites has vanished.
The BLT Waffle Fries came loaded with bacon, lettuce, tomato (of course!), and ranch dressing. We looooved this crispy, salty creation — and they definitely didn’t skim on the toppings!
Since Golden Oak Outpost does still have other loaded waffle fries (and onion rings!) on the menu, we’re keeping an eye out just in case our beloved BLT waffle fries return!
We ranked the lands of the Magic Kingdom based on their snacks!
Lightsaber Churros
Very tasty, they are! We’ve seen Lightsaber Churros briefly come and quickly go from Disney’s Hollywood Studios several times! They’ve popped up at special events and parties, and they were available to guests in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios back in 2019, as well as during the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Sure, they taste pretty much exactly like the classic Disney churros, but they’re so fun! And we think they would make for a solid alternative when we can’t get a reservation (or don’t want to lay out the cash dollas) to build a lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop!
Take a peek inside the 30th-anniversary celebration of Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
We loooove eating our way around Disney World! And even though we never have an issue finding something delicious to try, there are some home runs that we wish Disney would bring back for a victory lap (or forever!). These are the menu triumphs that we’re still wishing on a star to return!

Gold Rush Sundae at Ghirardelli loved the mix of hot fudge and butterscotch. The entire Menu at Kouzzina. Loved that place. In all fairness Trattoria Al Forno is fabulous in it’s own right.
