While we now know Disney World won’t reopen with parades, firework displays, or character meet and greets, more new details are emerging.
Since Disney World’s proposal took place this morning, we’re learning about more modifications that are being made to guests’ experiences upon the theme park’s reopening. First reported by WDWMagic.com, Cast Members employed at Disney World are being informed about a few details that weren’t shared earlier.
In addition to utilizing a new reservation system, Disney World will be offering limited transportation services to guests if the theme parks reopen on their proposed date of July 11th while Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will remain closed for the time being.
Check out every detail Disney shared with us about Disney World’s reopening plan here!
Disney World’s transportation services such as Magic Kingdom’s monorail and Friendship ferryboats will only be operating on a limited basis for resort hotel guests when the parks are open. You can see which Disney World hotels have announced their reopening dates here.
We know that all of this information can be hard to process and break down. So if you have any questions please let us know and we will do our best to get you the information you need.

Colin Smith says
Travelling from the UK on 18th August, any word on international travel?
Christy says
it’s ridiculous for them to leave the water parks closed especially since the CDC has said that the virus dies within seconds in the sunlight. And the heat for sure would get it.
Pam says
Any word on Magical Express? Will the Skyliner be running? If I’m staying at a resort that isn’t on the monorail will we have bus access?
Maureen says
Any word about onsite hotel pools?
Max says
They have updated their new hours in the app. The only thing I haven’t seen, is a change to the water parks. They are still listed as open for some reason starting the 11th of July.
Christine Moro says
As a Florida resident, I am waiting for the waterparks to open. During the summer months those are the enjoyable parks for my family. We prefer to go to the main theme parks during the fall and winter. We also prefer not to wear masks in hot weather as it’s hard to breathe. Looking forward to the waterparks reopening.
DFB Sarah says
Maureen, not yet. We will update as soon as we know!
DFB Sarah says
Pam, all good questions we don’t have clear answers on yet. We will update!
Meredith says
We are ones who had our trip moved because we were suppose to go last weekend. We’re now going in September and am wondering about the skyliner and as we intentionally booked at a skyliner hotel a year ago. I’m also curious how they will run the airport bus transfer.
Emma says
It would be good if Disney told us a bit more about maybe say this is phase 1 then in Phase two (give us a rough date) then say if Hotels will be opening. parades starting etc (if it was possible for Disney to do that) I’m Hopefully still going last week of September & First week of October coming from Scotland just hope flights start up soon and still hope Mickey’s not so Scary Halloween party goes ahead as we purchased tickets end of February
Dennis says

Jeanne says
Staying at Fort Wilderness beginning June 22. Any info on bus transportation toDisney Springs.
Sara Hammer says
Hi- we are booked to stay at Shades of Green in August, which isn’t technically a Disney resort, but it’s on Disney property. Has anyone said anything about guests staying there?
DFB Sarah says
Sara, not yet!
DFB Sarah says
Jeanne, no info yet. We’ll be updating, so keep an eye out for more details on transportation. So far all we know is that Disney has said it will be limited.
DFB Sarah says
Meredith, we’ll be reporting on transportation changes or processes when Disney releases info and when the Parks reopen.
VP says
DW says monorail and water taxis for transportation.
If you are staying at Animal Kingdom lodge , how do you get to the monorail or water boat ?
DFB Sarah says
VP, other Disney info has included buses, so we’re watching for clarification.
Robin says
What about Minnie Van service?
Emma John says
Thanks for this information, keep it up and provide us authentic information like these.
Brandon Smith says
Wondering about magical express and bus service myself. Will those be up and running at all? Or with limited capacity as well?
DFB Sarah says
Brandon, this info hasn’t been released yet, but we’re watching for it.
DFB Sarah says
Emma, I would imagine yes. You’ll need to reach out to Disney for sure.
Paul Alter says
Christy, the CDC doesn’t say that the COVID-19 virus is deactivated in “seconds” in sunlight. Here’s what they say, “Coronaviruses on surfaces and objects naturally die within hours to days. Warmer temperatures and exposure to sunlight will reduce the time the virus survives on surfaces and objects.”
Put another way, CDC isn’t making a firm statement here.
In some other studies they are seeing evidence that UVB can be effective in deactivating the COVID-19 virus, but it requires somewhere on the order of 15 minutes in clear sunlight at peak sun level. Anything off of that and you start adding more time for sunlight to be effective.
So, with people moving through the same spaces all the time, there’s no guarantee that sunlight will have deactivated the virus. And, of course, there are all the places that are indoors, such as attractions, stores, and dining locations, where – pardon the expression – the sun don’t shine.
Kingston G says
I am very disappointed that the water parks will remain closed. As a Florida resident, we book a week long staycation every summer. Floating around the lazy river at Blizzard Beach for 2-3 hours with my wife, is my favorite thing to do at Disney.
Michelle says
For the Shades of Green question- we are an active duty military family. I wouldn’t plan on Shades of Green Opening until the DoD releases all travel restrictions for military members and the DoD. Shades of green is owned and run by the DoD and they aren’t jumping at the bit to open anything 100%.
DFB Sarah says
Thank you for your insight and for your family’s service, Michelle.
Barbara Furr says
I am very disappointed that the water parks are not opening. Would seem an important aspect to the Disney Experience.
