This morning Disney World presented a proposal for a phased reopening of the parks starting July 11th.
Disney’s proposal included a lot of details about the expectations for reopening, but it did not touch on the reopening dates for resorts or Disney Vacation Club Properties. Shortly after the presentation though, Disney posted reopening dates for Disney Vacation Club properties at Disney World and more. Here are all of the current details.
Disney has shared that “pending approval from government officials, the phased reopening plans we submitted calls for Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Resort hotels to open beginning July 11 for Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom followed by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15.” UPDATE: The website no longer mentions hotels in this statement.
According to the Disney World website, Disney Vacation Club (DVC) properties at Walt Disney World and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will begin to reopen to members and guests on June 22nd. DVC properties in Vero Beach, Florida, and Hilton Head, South Carolina will reopen on June 15th.
As of now, Disney has not released information on whether all of the resorts will open at once in Disney World or if they will open in phases. Regardless, they note that Disney resort hotel offerings may be modified, limited in capacity, and subject to availability or closure.
Disney has also shared that they are temporarily pausing new ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel reservations so that they can focus on those with existing tickets and reservations at this time. DVC members can still make new reservations. “Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make reservation requests in phases before new tickets are sold; we’ll be reaching out to these guests soon to provide additional details.” Ticket sales and hotel reservations will resume after this period of time.

Tony Tavares says
I’m a DVC member…I wasn’t able to book a reservation today…letting know
Taryn says
Hello,
So my family and I have a reservation at Bay Lake in October. We have not purchased our military tickets yet. With sales being on hold, does that mean we won’t be able to purchase tickets for our already booked trip?
We would of been buying them in June.
Farrah says
We still need to know if pools are open and if masks are required
DFB Sarah says
Farrah, you’re right — we don’t know this yet. We will update when more information is released.
DFB Sarah says
Taryn, I think you should contact Disney when you can to inquire about this.
Imani says
We have reservations for the week of July 12 at the Polynesian resort. Our tickets last night had fast passes associated with them. Today , Savis workshop and oga’s cantina and spirit of aloha all remained but the ride passes were missing. I emailed disney to inquire about what we need to do next and am awaiting information back… praying we will be able to enjoy the parks and keep our hotel reservation…
Mitzi says
So I guess if I have a trip planned from July 19th – 26th, the theme parks will be open but not my hotel. Am I reading that correctly?
DFB Sarah says
Mitzi, we really just don’t have official information about Disney Resorts aside from the DVC Resorts that Disney has said will begin opening on June 22. It doesn’t mean there won’t be any Resorts open, just that Disney isn’t ready to release official info at this time. We’ll update when they do!
Tom says
Hi we are traveling from New York and have Dvc reservations starting June 29th. Are we expected to be in quarantine for 14 days?
DFB Sarah says
Tom, I don’t know about this. I’ll see if the team can look into it.
Lisa says
I’d like to know is when is Disney going bring Employees back and what about each position. Are they going to bring the Employees back to get them up and running then lay offs? It seems like something they’d do. Are they going to keep their employees Furloughed for the entire 12 months and then do lay offs? They need to address this much sooner than later because people need to plan and take action.
DFB Sarah says
Lisa, we haven’t heard anything about this yet, but if/when we do, we will update.
Charlotte Tanner says
What about safe distancing on the buses? Has Disney addressed this or did I just miss it?
DFB Sarah says
Charlotte, that has not specifically been addressed. Disney has noted limited transportation, but no specifics have emerged. We will be watching and reporting.
gabi says
Do we know anything about Disney Resort restaurants? We have our resort still booked and plan on going and just hanging out poolside first week of July but if there’s not where to eat kind of pointless. Thanks.
DFB Sarah says
Gabi, we would expect that for the Resorts that are open at the time you mentioned, there would be some food option. Several restaurants have begun notifying cast members that they’ll be returning in mid-June. It remains to be seen what will open and what that experience will be like.
jarrod says
Hi, Can you advise if the Caribbean Beach Resort is opening in June 2020 as not seen much news about this particular hotel. Also hoping Disney will start giving information for international travellers, as would like to know what happens if everything is up and running but the restrictions on flights are still in place or having to quarantine both ways could be a real deal breaker
DFB Sarah says
Jarrod, the only Resorts Disney has said will open beginning June 22 are the DVC Resorts (specifically the villas themselves) and Fort Wilderness Cabins. We are watching and will update.
Lourdes says
Hi..want to reserve hotel for November at french quarters any news?
DFB Sarah says
Lourdes, nothing new about Resorts. We will update whenever Disney releases information.
Bob Kaiser says
will the restaurants in ft. Wilderness be open? How about the breakfast buffet at trails end?
DFB Sarah says
Bob, P&J’s Southern Takeout, Meadow Snack Bar, and Crockett’s Tavern are listed as opening at Fort Wilderness. As far as I’ve seen, Trail’s End is not listed as opening in the official information.
Katie says
We booked our trip in January for mid September 2020. We have reservations at Port Orleans Riverside and six day park hopper tickets. My husband and I have been calling since 7am and haven’t gotten ahold of anyone yet. We are nervous about our reservations .
Charles Davenport says
will boardwalk be open in Sept ? We have confirmed reservat ions for Sept 7 thru Sept 11. What is going on?
DFB Sarah says
Charles, BoardWalk is current scheduled to open October 1. You may want to contact Disney to see whether they need to look into other options.
Claudie says
When is Disney aulani
on Oahu reopening .
DFB Sarah says
Claudie, no reopening date yet. Here’s the website with info.
