While select third-party restaurants and shops at Disney Springs reopened on May 20th, today marks the day that Disney-owned locations are reopening their doors.
We’re here LIVE today to check out the new health and safety measures that Disney is implementing, so follow along with us!
We will be updating this post throughout the day, so don’t forget to check back for updates!Â
WOW! While many Cast Members shared that they expected crowds to increase when Disney-owned locations, we didn’t know that the lines would be like this! You can see the low Memorial Day crowds in Disney Springs — here.Â
World of Disney
Currently, the line or World of Disney stretches past Dockside Margaritas.
Cast Members are using duct tape to create make-shift social distancing markers.
Guests can put their name on a list at World of Disney and Marketplace Co-Op and will receive a text when it is their turn to enter a store. They take your number and will call you 15 minutes prior.
World of Disney is officially set to open at 10AM. We’re interested to see what the store will look like inside when it opens.
As of right now, World of Disney has a three-hour wait and Marketplace Co-Op has a 90-minute wait.
Update: As of 9:35AM, the line now stretches past Earl of Sandwich and Disney’s Days of Christmas Store.
Update: As of 9:45 AM, the line has now reached Rainforest Cafe.
Update: As of 11:30 we were texted we could enter World of Disney.
We spoke with a Cast Member who informed us guests have 30 minutes to return to the store to enter. There’s no time limit once inside. They also informed us at that time that the wait was up to SIX HOURS to get in!
When ready to enter, you’ll check in with a Cast Member at the door.
Inside, the store appears largely unchanged. There are plenty of Cast Members on hand to assist you.
Hand Sanitizer is available throughout the store.
New displays were set up for merchandise that had been previously only released online, like the Summertime Fun line we saw released back in early April!
The Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction collection was available in part today as well — but it was one of the first things to sell out, according to Cast Members! The “it’s a small world” collection was available initially. We WERE able to spot some Pirates of the Caribbean Minnie Plushes left on a shelf! 🙂
Jewelry is still for sale, but guests are not permitted to try it on at this time, per a Cast Member.
We noticed plexiglass barriers installed at the checkouts.
Cash is still accepted, but there are signs indicating multiple contactless payment options are accepted.
Signs are spread throughout the store encouraging guests to “protect the magic” by limiting how much they handle merchandise.
Markers indicating where to stand, just like we’ve seen throughout Disney Springs, are spaced near checkout areas.
Cast Members are stationed near the exits to direct guests to the correct doors. Certain sets of doors are entrance only and some are just for use as exits.
Cast Members we spoke to were very happy to be back. Some were brought over as temporary help from Goofy’s Candy Company, which was set to open today but still remains closed. All the Cast Members we spoke with say reopening has gone smoothly. They told us more merchandise should be stocked in the coming days as well.
Marketplace Co-Op
Marketplace Co-Op reopened today following many of the same procedures as World of Disney. Guests are put in a virtual queue and texted to return to the store when they can be accommodated.
Guests check-in with a Cast Member at the entrance.
Certain doors are clearly marked as exits.
Hand sanitizer was readily available throughout the store as well.
We spotted those same “protect the magic” signs here as well!
Dressing Rooms are currently closed to guests.
Distancing markers are placed throughout checkout areas similar to World of Disney.
The Daily Poutine
The Daily Poutine has reopened!
We ordered a Classic Poutine and noticed they were being served in paper boats instead of the paper cups we are more familiar with.
We’ll check back to see if this is just a temporary change. They also have a unique new way of dispensing forks!
Guests pull the handle and once a fork is removed a new handle pops out. This reduces contact on the dispensers.
Marketplace Snacks
Marketplace Snacks is back too! And you know what that means…
…OUR FIRST DOLE WHIP SINCE DISNEY WORLD REOPENED!

Various Carts
Snack carts around Springs are open today as well!
We grabbed popcorn at one. We also found out they ARE doing refills on popcorn buckets still.
At another we grabbed a Mickey Pretzel (we missed him!).
Stormtroopers!
If you look up walking around Disney Springs today you might notice some…interesting security patrolling: STORMTROOPERS!
That’s right! These guys were up on a balcony instructing guests to keep moving and stay in line! Cool!
Remember, we will continue to update this post throughout the day, so check back!!Â

This is challenging for sure particularly for CMs who will have to deal with this once parks and resorts open so please people be kind and follow the guidelines. LOL! It’s good to keep things light right now so the Stormtroopers are a fun touch!

Well i like the idea of the new fork dispensers however we’re canadian and turn off data so we dont get roaming charges; how will the cast members reach you in that case when it’s your turn to enter the store? Hope they have these bumps ironed out when i am supposed to arrive the end of aug.
