While tickets for the 2020 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties went on sale in February, we haven’t heard very much on the subject of Disney World’s spookiest season since then!
With so many changes happening right now regarding Disney World’s reopening, including a new reservation system, including suspending all Fastpass+ and dining reservations, and canceling all Disney Dining Plans through 2021 (not to mention you can’t purchase park tickets or book a room at Disney World right now), what could this mean for Magic Kingdom’s annual Halloween celebration?
Well, we had to get to the bottom of this pressing matter and, after speaking with a Cast Member today, we were able to confirm all Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets ARE still valid…but they aren’t selling any more of them right now.
And just moments ago, Disney World added this message to their Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties ticket page meaning guests can no longer reserve tickets.
Now whether or not this means Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties will happen or not, we can’t confirm at this time. The 2020 separately-ticket parties are scheduled to begin August 13th and run on select nights through November 1st. That doesn’t leave Disney with a lot of time to get its stuff figured out since Magic Kingdom’s tentative reopening date is July 11th.
Keep in mind, Disney has stated that everything is subject to change, so things might be altered at any time. It’s also worth noting that if Disney reopens with their proposed plan to halt fireworks, parades, and character meet-and-greets, it’s possible that many of the experiences people are eager to experience at the Halloween parties may be altered or missing entirely. We’ll keep you posted if Disney announces anything further.

And keep in mind we are also still waiting on Disney World to release tickets for the 2020 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties which came out on April 8th last year.
See what other big announcements we’re STILL waiting on from Disney here!
We’re continuing to dig and look for answers and we’ll report back soon with any information we uncover, but for now hold onto those Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets because as far as we know, they’ll still GOOD!

Jean says
I just talked to a reservation cast member. They told me that my Halloween Party tickets will be cancelled. That there will not be a Halloween party.
DFB Sarah says
Thanks, Jean! We’ll dig into it!
Jena says
I have tix for MNSSHP! My trip is booked for October 20th. The tix are still showing in my account. I’m hopeful that things will be in order and a good system will be in place by then.
Sandra says
We have tickets but we’re coming from Canada and we’re starting to have concerns over whether or not the border will be open. Without the fireworks, shows and character meet and greets, I’m not sure that we’re that eager to go. Our Christmas trip is already booked so we may just wait until then.
Linda says
I was told by my agent even Christmas will be cancelled. With limited hours, no events such as parades and fireworks, no characters, short park hours, reservations required to get into park, no fast pass , and general public is after resort guests and locals, I’m not willing to pay full price tickets.
Bruce says
We have tix for Aug & their still in MDE
Kate says
If halloween goes ahead do you think we will have the option to have a refund or part refund if they are not doing half of what they advertised when the tickets went on sale (we got ours when they first came out before all of this happened) as that’s a lot of money for just some sweets
DFB Sarah says
Kate, we’ll have to see what Disney says on this.
Julie says
I live in england and I have my Halloween tickets for disney dont really know what to expect some disney magic I think for us allx
CeCe says
My MNSSH Tix bought in February are still showing up as well, although my dining reservations have been canceled. So which is it? Halloween event or not? It is disappointing enough to know that my off-site timeshare, paid airfare & car rental does nothing to help me get a park reservation, but I was hoping to at least get into a Disney park for ONE day for not-so-scary. This will be my 1st time attending too. I am a die hard Universal Halloween Horror Nights gal, but decided to do Mickey’s NSS as well this year since it looks so fun, and I only need a half day at MK anyway. Here’s hoping my Orlando trip this October isn’t a total bust!

We have tickets for MNSSHP in August during our every-other-year trip. We’re trying to re-work all our plans (with loss of over a dozen hard fought dining reservations and previously meticulously planned day-to-day park visits) to best handle whatever (way too last minute) reservation system eventually opens up that we’ll have to navigate, but the foggy vagueness about our MNSSHP really hurts. I’m worried we’ll have to start making specific day park reservations and dining reservations before we really know if (a) it will happen after all, and (b) it will be worth going to anyway. Without parade, fireworks, show (crowd provoking), or character meets, all that is left are trick or treating, a ride overlay or two, and food/souvenir exclusives… and I have a hard time believing that if parade, fireworks, and meet-and-greets are not health-maintenance- friendly, that there is much hope for trick-or-treating too (kind of an ultimate infection pass-around opportunity).
DFB Sarah says
CeCe, as far as we’ve confirmed thusfar, MNSSHP is still a go for folks who already purchased tickets. What we were told is that no new tickets will be sold.
Jess says
Attending Sept 25th! Was told no more tickets would be sold but that’s it’s a go! I think with smaller crowds it will be doable for the most part!!
Karen M says
I have party tickets for my Aug/Sept trip and got them months ago the first day they went on sale. My free dining plan I had on my reservation for the past year, all 10 days of my dining reservations are gone. The free dining is what has kept me going back for 25+ years. But this may be the last trip because I cant afford to add thousands of dollars to my trip for restaurants I am used to being covered on the dining plan. 35% discount on the room is kind of insulting compared to savings with free dining. I may go for 5 days instead of 10 and will have to seriously budget food since I have to pay for it to go. If virtually every component of the party is removed like shows, parades, fireworks, trick-or-treat is removed from the party then it isnt much of a party. For $100 a ticket they need to issue 100% or at least partial refund of the price. Time will tell how this will go.
melissa says
Can confirm that our MNSSHP tickets were automatically refunded to our credit card on June 1st. We were booked for one of the late August parties.
DFB Sarah says
Thanks for the info, Melissa.
melissa says
Sorry I actually don’t want to pass false info. We were refunded more than the cost for the Halloween tickets, so I am thinking that the refund was given for our current resort reservation since we received the 35% discount due to losing the dining plan. It does not have any information attached to the return other than Disney Resorts. Apologies!
DFB Sarah says
That’s okay, Melissa! I had the team checking our social media channels in case someone else reported that, so I’m grateful you updated. Have a peaceful evening.
Karen M says
I too found a refund processed to my card with no explanation. I called Guest Relations. They told me that represents the upgrade to the free dining plan that I paid extra for, plus the 35% discount on the room price. But I am not done yet because once we are able to modify reservations I am downgrading my 10 day reservation to 5 days. Can’t ever do 10 days of dining at Disney restaurant prices. But I can budget with 5. They will also be taking the 4-day hopper ticket off the reservation too. No dining promotion, no requirement to have a hopper ticket on the reservation. Never needed it anyway because I am an annual passholder.
Karen M says
As of now Disney Guest Services tells me they have no info on whether MNSSHP will happen. So for now tickets for that will still show up on My Disney Experience. I am waiting to hear about that too. Because if it is still happening or not will determine which days I take off my reservations when I modify it from 10 days down to 5. No info on the passholder preview event either. But I suspect I may have to miss that like all the passholder events in the past. They don’t give enough advance notice of those dates for people to be able to make arrangements to go. Everyone that is a passholder doesn’t live in Florida. I have to book a flight, hotel, rental car, etc. The short notice they usually give doesnt afford me the ability to go at a moment’s notice.
Janet says
I was told on May 29th, that no updates had been made and to continue to check updates on their events.
Minick says
Hi legally how can they advertise for something that is not being provided and charge the same price. Also for people who hold tix on hp and cannot attend will. They consider adding the tix value to visits in 2021currently triwhat state area is on a14 day hold and Canada border is closed
