When Disney World initially closed back in March, Disney announced that monthly payments for Annual Passholders on the payment plan would continue.
Disney later overturned this decision and announced that monthly payments would be paused until the parks reopen. However, fees from March had already been charged by the time Disney changed their decision and Passholders on the payment plan have been patiently waiting for their refunds ever since.
We took a peek into our bank accounts this weekend and saw that one month of Passholder payments had been refunded. We took this to mean that our March payment has been refunded to our accounts.
Our bank statements showed “WDW AP Monthly Pa 5/28 Refund” from “Walt Disney World.” Although the date stated was May 28th, our refund was declared “processed” today, May 31st.
Disney has not commented on their timeline for refunds from the closures, but we will continue to keep you updated as we hear more and as we keep an eye on our accounts! Are you an Annual Passholder waiting on a refund? We would love to hear your experience in the comments!

Hmmm, ours hasn’t shown up yet.
Jo says
@Jordan How much is the refund? We have APs-gold passes which is typical FL resident, I believe. But we don’t live in FL. And is there any word about going forward. We were discussing this at breakfast. If we go, we need to reserve a time, so use is significantly impacted and having no shows, also diminishes the value of an AP. Has there been any word? We haven’t seen any.
Any info would be great!
Ivis says
I haven’t seen any refund on my account and I was charge for March on March 6 & 9 since I have 2 AP in my family
C. Byrd says
Paid in full. Don’t want a refund, but am interested in knowing how the expiration date will be postponed. Have never received any communication from them since buying APs for my family. Love, love, love DFB!
DFB Sarah says
C. Byrd, here’s the link to the AP page about the closure/reopening. I’m not sure if there will be a ton of helpful info here, but know that we’ll continue to sort through news.
DFB Sarah says
Ivis, we don’t know how long the process might take, but if you’re concerned, try reaching out to Disney for more info. Good luck!
DFB Sarah says
Jo, we don’t have the answers to these questions yet. Hopefully when the new theme park reservation system goes live, we’ll have more info for you!
Alexander says
Is Anyone getting ANY kind of email communication from Disney?
I’m a D23 member and a Annual Passholder and I have received ZERO emails.
DFB Sarah says
Alexander, we have had lots of readers and followers tell us they received emails, but it seems there are lots who haven’t as well. We don’t have insight on why that might be, unfortunately.
Chrissy D says
I am interesting on learning how monthly payments will be processed once parks open if: 1. It’s not guaranteed that even AP holders can visit the parks on XYZ day because of reservation system 2. Not all parks or amenities are open at once 3. You can’t hop to hop to all 4 parks if you don’t have a reservation to do so (if the new reservation system even allows hopping)… so how will they be able to have a uniform monthly charge for the pass holders??
DFB Sarah says
Chrissy, this all remains to be seen.

I got a response from Disneyland Passholders Twitter account about our refunds.. here it is:
Hi there! Thank you for your patience as we worked to gather all available information.
We will retroactively refund payments made between March 14 through April 4, 2020. You do not need to take action to obtain this refund. You should receive your refund approximately 7 to 9 weeks from the 4/5 date. We appreciate your patience as we work on processing these refunds.
So I’m thinking around first of June to mid June for us!
ELLEN H WINANS says
I have not received any refund. They deducted the money from my account on 3/1 and I haven’t seen any refund.
Vernon W Rush Jr says
Both my wife and I are over 71 years old and in the “high risk” category for COV 19. Our doctors advise us to limit going anywhere until this pandemic passes. I’m hoping Disney will consider this and offer some kind of solution.
Barbara says
I just checked the credit card that my payments go on and YES, there is a credit from Disney for 1 month payment. The transaction date was May 29 and posted May 31.
Kathy says
No refund as of this writing and am wondering how refunds are actually figured in contrast to closing date of WDW.
I had a payment deducted on March 1, and another on April 1, 2020.
So needless to say the statement that refunds were figured for pmts received March-April would be refunded? So would like to hear about this.
Nicole says
I told them I didn’t want to start my pass over when they started so they put it on hold then when it opens I will just pick up where I left off and they will add the days from March to give me new expiration date. The other option was explained to be as they would refund you for March and then you would have to start a new membership over when they opened I was not doing that and giving deposit again
Stacey says
I got a refund posted to my account as well on 5/28, however they then posted a CHARGE for the same amount, also on the 28th. The credit came through and the charge apparently is still pending (still hasn’t hit my account). Weird.
Bernadine Baranowski says
My AP was paid with ending day of May 30 and I have not received a refund. Does this mean I do not get an extension and cannot buy a AP. I would like to be able to go to the parks in August
DFB Sarah says
Bernadine, it may just be that they system is slow to catch up. You can try calling Disney if you want some clarification.
