If you have a room booked at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, make sure you check this out!
Yesterday, Disney dropped A TON of information about what Disney World will look like when it reopens! We learned which restaurants will reopen on June 22nd, where we can experience a modified Character Dining experience, changes to the Disney World Resort hotel experience, and more.
Speaking of changes to Disney World Resort hotel experiences, when the news first dropped last night, it was announced that Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club resorts will not be available during the initial reopening period, and guests at this hotel may visit the leisure pool at Disney’s Beach Club Villas.
But wait, there’s more! Disney has now updated the information stating that guests staying at Beach Club may also use the Luna Park Pool and leisure pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas.
So, even though Stormalong Bay won’t be available initially, Beach Club guests now have a new pool to check out!

I would be mad. It’s the best pool. Who wants hoof it over to
The Boardwalk.
Michelle says
This totally sucks and I’m very upset!
Nick says
This isn’t an amenity. Its a royal pain. Why would I go to another resort when I just should be able to go down to the pool my resort offers. This is nuts and a drastic overreach by some control nuts on this COVID scenario. I hope Disney gets a sense of proportion soon and opens this up before my trip there. There is no sensible reason why the pool should not be open based on all we know about this supposed pandemic. Get it together Disney and be a leader in proportion on how you address this.
Steve says
This is very disappointing. We are booked at Yacht Club at the end of July and we chose this resort specifically for the pool. The leisure pool will not be able to accommodate the overflow of people, especially with physical distancing in place. Our boys will be very disappointed.
Deb says
Hmmmm. One of the reasons we booked the Yacht Club Resort is for the Stormalong pool. We will have small grandchildren along and don’t want to need to travel to another place for the pool. This could change our plans. With Disney removing fireworks, parades, dining plans, Fast Passes, now the pool I hope there are SIGNIFICANT discounts. Not even sure that will be enough fir us to keep our trip.
Jonell says
I am so glad we canceled our July resv. I would be extremly upset, THATS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS you book this specific hotel. Ugggg
Adrienne says
Really interested to see when Stormalong Bay will reopen. We have reservations for August but would definitely cancel if we don’t have access to Stormalong Bay (with so many other limitations in place, this was the only reason we have kept our vacation so far). We will keep our eye on DFB for any updates!
Picc2 says
We will be there 6/23-25 and we are disappointed. However, we were also REALLY lucky to book Beach Club again at Christmas. I’m am wondering if we are going to have to walk all the way over to the Boardwalk pool or will the friendship boats be running. I have a soar knee and walking that distance might be tough without the boat. We might have a lot of time on our hands, so we may just walk around. I look forward to the mini retreat. I just wonder how many reservations have been made. Do you think we might get an upgrade?
DFB Sarah says
Picc2, no word on the Friendship Boats. Hopefully they’ll be running, and we will keep an eye out for them!
Michele says
This is very sad and unmagical.
Melissa says
We always stay at The Yacht & Beach Club & I’m hoping that it’ll be open for our October trip. We’re also going to the Food & Wine Festival as we do every year & I’m hoping it’s not cancelled! 🙏🤞🏼
Eddie says
The other rule change is that the pools will have reduced number of people allowed so now two major resorts will have access to this relatively small pool. Not sure how this will work? Will people staying at The Boardwalk have priority? Imagine walking your family over only to be told it is at capacity. As a side note our grand kid, one of two, called this the scary clown pool and was not impressed!
DFB Sarah says
Eddie, there are people here at DFB who agree with your grandchild! If we hear about the limits and how that’s being handled, we will update.
Alyse says
So, all of these years we at Boardwalk have NEVER been allowed to go to the Beach Club pools, but NOW they can come to ours? Will I have priority in my own pool?????? Who came up with this bright idea???
Diane says
This is all really tough to swallow as vacation club members who lose points if not used in the right time and yet we weren’t allowed to go but still paid our almost $7,000 dues. Our home resort is Boardwalk and Vero but you are absolutely right it will be a pain to have all the people from Yacht and Beach come over because even when that isn’t the situation sometimes we have gone to the pool only to find we couldn’t find a seat. Once we were taken over to the Beach Club big pool because ours was closed and they took us over in golf carts because we needed to get the right bands for their pool. It’s kind of hard to even deal with this one park in a day because we love to dine in the restaurants in Epcot but now we can’t do that if we are going to another park. Definitely not what we signed up for . I’m glad they are being cautious but some of this seems overly cautious and not fair.
