Disney World just shared that their new Park Pass Reservation System will open to guests with existing reservations on June 22nd.
The Park Pass System will help manage park attendance for the foreseeable future as the Disney parks reopen with limited capacity caps in place (Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will reopen on July 11th, and Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will reopen on July 15th). All guests will need a Park Pass reservation on top of their valid park entry to enter any Disney World theme park.
Let’s take a look at how this new system will work. Check out ALL the details and a TUTORIAL below!
Disney World Theme Park Pass Reservation System Details
The Park Pass System is an online tool to help guests with making their park reservations. Again, ALL GUESTS with a valid ticket for entry will also require an advance Park Pass reservation to enter the park. To enter a park, valid entry and a park reservation are required for the same park on the same date for each person in your group ages three and up.
Keep in mind that you are limited to one park per day with the reservation system at this time. Visiting more than one park per day will be temporarily unavailable during the reopening phase due to attendance limitations.
Note also that a separate reservation will be required for each day in a theme park. If you have a multi-day ticket, you will need a reservation for each day of your ticket.
Reservations are subject to availability and are NOT guaranteed until a reservation is finalized. Disney recommends that you make your theme park reservations as soon as you purchase your tickets, as availability is subject to change until your reservation is finalized.

Important Dates To Note
The Park Pass System will open to guests in phases.
Existing Ticket Holders
The following are the need-to-know dates for guests with existing hotel reservations, and current ticket holders:
- Disney Resort and other select hotel Guests with valid theme park admission can make reservations beginning June 22nd.
- Annual Passholders without an already-booked Resort Hotel stay can make reservations beginning June 26th.
- Existing ticket holders can make reservations beginning June 28th.
Note that if you booked a vacation package, your eligibility is tied to your travel dates. To make a theme park reservation for a different date, you’ll need to modify the dates on your vacation package.
At this time, reservations will be available through September 26th, 2021, based on your room reservation and ticket eligibility. If you have a room-only reservation but do not have valid tickets, call the Disney Reservation Center at (407) 939-1936 or your travel agent beginning June 24th to upgrade your package to one with tickets. You will then be able to make theme park reservations.
Those Booking a New Vacation
New hotel reservations and ticket sales are currently on hold, but new vacation bookings will open up again soon. On June 28th, all guests will be able to purchase new Disney Resort hotel packages and theme park tickets and make their park reservations for arrivals in 2021. Guests will be able to see theme park reservation availability BEFORE making ticket purchases.
For 2020 arrivals, new reservations and ticket sales will resume later this summer based on the availability of park reservations.
Tutorial
Now, let’s walk through the four-step Park Pass reservation process.
Step 1: Link your admission tickets to your Disney account.
You’ll need to make sure that your existing park admission is linked to your My Disney Experience (MDE) account. If you do not have an MDE account you will need to make one at DisneyWorld.com. Use your account dashboard and confirmation numbers to link your park admission ticket numbers (these are usually listed on the back of the ticket) and Disney Resort hotel reservation to your MDE account.
Make sure that each person in your party has their valid admission linked. Your tickets and hotel stays must be linked so that the Park Pass system recognizes your ticket eligibility.
Step 2: Create your party.
Similar to the process when you make a Fastpass+ or Advance Dining Reservations, you will need to specify your travel party. When you begin to make your reservation, you’ll be prompted to create a party from your Family & Friends list. If anyone is not listed on your Family & Friends list, you can “Add a Guest” to include them on the reservation. (Note that in order to include other adults on the reservation, they may need to have a My Disney Experience account that’s been linked as a “friend” or “family” to yours. You can set this up before you make your theme park reservation.)
Be sure to make profiles for kids in your group ages three and up as well. Parents can manage their children’s profiles via the My Disney Experience app or website.
Your reservation party must consist of valid admission holders. Depending on your admission type, you may need to make more than one Park Pass reservation for your party. If you are staying in a Disney Resort or other eligible hotel with a ticket package, you’ll need to make sure that everyone has a hotel reservation. If not, you will need to make different Park Pass reservations.
Step 3: Select a date and park.
After your party is selected, you will be prompted to specify the reservation date you’d like to visit based on availability. You’ll be able to choose a date via a calendar, choose a theme park, and choose a time for your visit.
Step 4: Review and confirm your plans.
Before finalizing your reservation, make sure that you carefully review your selected park and dates. From the confirmation page, you can select “Back” if you need to make any changes.
To confirm, you will need to agree to the Terms & Conditions, including the COVID-19 liability waiver. Then, select “Confirm” to complete your park reservation. Once confirmed, your reservations will be listed in “My Plans” on your MDE account.
From there, you can select “Make Another Reservation” to continue planning. If you need to cancel a reservation, you can view it in “My Plans” and select “Reservation Details.” Other than that, you’re finished! You’ve made a reservation for entry into the Disney theme parks.

DFB Sarah says
Megan, we expect that it will, yes. Here’s hoping Disney doesn’t have any technology snafus!
DFB Sarah says
April, Disney has not confirmed that the Disney Springs Area Resorts are included, but we expect they will be. That said, Disney has not (to my knowledge) specified a limit to the number of days you can reserve the Disney Park Pass; it appears you can do so for the length of a Resort stay.
DFB Sarah says
Lucy, first, I hear you; this has to be incredibly stressful. And I do wish I had specific clarifying information for you. We don’t really know what to expect as far as how quickly reservations will be booked up, so I can’t offer any reassurance on that. I wish you the best of luck, and I hope it all works out — SOONER rather than later!
DFB Sarah says
Darren, it sounds like you’ll be booking one day at a time. Disney says this: “Want to make another park reservation? Select “Make Another Reservation” to continue planning. As a reminder, if you have a multi-day ticket, you will be required to make a park reservation for each date of your visit.”
DFB Sarah says
Marc, good luck! Might give the VIPassholer line a ring to see if they can give you reassurance.
DFB Sarah says
Sarah, we believe this language from Disney will apply to your kids, even though they’re also on your Resort reservation: “If you have a room-only reservation at a Disney Resort or other select hotel for a stay in 2021, please call the Disney Reservation Center or call your travel professional beginning on June 24 to upgrade to a vacation package with tickets—and then make your theme park reservations.” You could try calling DVC member services to see if they’re able to add tickets before then.
DFB Sarah says
Michele, Extra Magic Hours have been suspended for reopening. No word on the timeline of when they might return.
DFB Sarah says
Sarah, hi. Sadly we do not have any additional details. I sincerely wish we did. We will update on Monday when we learn more (hopefully!).
DFB Sarah says
Andrea, we think 7AM, but Disney has not confirmed that. It’s possible technology delays could impact timing, too. We will update if anything wonky happens.
DFB Sarah says
Lemonia, unfortunately we don’t have more information on that. We will update when we learn more — hopefully Monday!
DFB Sarah says
Ashley, the new sales that begin June 28 are for guests looking to make NEW reservations for 2021. The ticket sales resuming later this summer are for folks hoping to make NEW plans for the duration of 2020. My understanding of Disney’s language is that they’re hoping to sort out the current 2020 reservations (Resort and Park) to see what their availability is for the rest of the year, being mindful of their capacity limits. Basically: I think they don’t know how many more people they can squeeze in given how much uncertainty there is for folks with current 2020 reservations. As for the two year old, I’m not sure. I’m trying to remember how I handled it when my daughter was younger. I believe I added her to the account (she has a MagicBand) because she’s going to be in the room, but obviously she wasn’t included in FastPass+, etc. That’s an interesting question.
DFB Sarah says
Jessica, hi! Disney has only said a valid Park ticket and a Disney Resort reservation — they have not mentioned payment in full as a condition. I think you should be good to go!
DFB Sarah says
Chris, we think you’ll only be able to access the Disney Park Pass system on a web browser, not in the app. As for the ticket: you will need to link your Annual Pass to your Disney account. I would double check on a desktop/tablet browser to be sure it’s showing there, too, even though you know it’s already in the app.
DFB Sarah says
Erin, can you link her confirmation number to your account, even though the Pass hasn’t technically been activated? If so, you should be fine. But I honestly don’t know the logistics. It’s my understanding that APs with confirmation numbers who have not yet been on-site at Disney World to activate their Passes are able to access things like AP rates for Resort reservations, so to that extent, a confirmation number is enough. I do not know if that’s the case for the new Disney Park Pass system. Give the VIPassholder folks a ring if you can’t get her Pass attached to your account to see what they say. Good luck!
DFB Sarah says
Mandy, the “time” thing is really an unknown at this point — and a frustrating one for lots of folks! We will update as soon as we know more, which might end up being Monday when the system goes live. Sorry I can’t help more!
DFB Sarah says
Melissa, I think this is the info you need: “If you have a room-only reservation at a Disney Resort or other select hotel for a stay in 2021, please call the Disney Reservation Center or call your travel professional beginning on June 24 to upgrade to a vacation package with tickets—and then make your theme park reservations.” That’s direct from Disney. Let me know if you need anything else!
DFB Sarah says
Nick, we think 7AM, but Disney has not confirmed this. If we learn more, we’ll update!
DFB Sarah says
Allyssa, we do not know yet. We will hopefully know more on Monday when the system goes live. Good luck!
Jacqui Fletcher-Jones says
HI,
We have 14 day tickets, will we be able to reserve parks for the whole 14 days and then cancel days if we decide to have a resort day.
Mr. John says
Nick go on at 6:30 a.m. You and another person 1- cell phone and 1- computer or tablet . Who ever gets on first let them make reservations . If you have to emails it would be better ! Good Luck !DVC Member since 2006, 20 years at Disney Parks . I l ive in New Jersey I can not go but would like to see some one have a ” GREAT Time “.
Kerrie says
Hi DFB Team,
Thank you for all you do for us! I am trying to figure out ticket purchases and reservations as Mom and I are scheduled/have confirmed reservations at our home DVC resort for The Riviera in Sept 2020, but did not buy park tickets yet since the Covid-19 stuff hit. Do you happen to know if we would be considered in the group that would go the latest on June 28th? Or maybe I will need to call DVC member services. Thank you so much for time!!
David says
Hi,
How will this work if we don’t know when the Extra Magic Hours will be?
If we book a park for the day, does that mean we then cannot go to Disney Springs for an evening meal?
jack rawlins says
When I made my trip reservations (AKL) for 2/21, I bought an annual pass for me, but it hasn’t been activated yet–it gets activated when I enter a park for the first time. So will I be able to reserve park entry, since I don’t have an active annual pass nor a park ticket?
Jessica says
Will they be limiting the amount of time you’re able to be in the park? Like will you have a time frame to pick from, maybe 9am – 2pm or 12pm – 4pm or whatever it may be? Or once you’re in, you can stay as long as you want?
Amy says
We have a resort reservation for October but some members of our party have not purchased tickets yet. Will they be able to purchase tickets and do the park reservations on the 22nd?
Lauren says
If I have an August 2020 room only reservation, will I be able to get park tickets on the 24th to use the new reservation system? Thanks
Angel says
Do you know if multiple reservations for one park are available? Such as, a reservation for Magic Kingdom every Friday until the end of the year. For annual pass holders.
Teresa Swanson says
I think I saw this asked but not sure I saw the answer. Is this 7 AM Eastern Time it will start on Monday? I guess I am up early on Monday
Hayley Cartwright says
Do you know if you can go in and out of the park you have a reservation at on the same day? Or if its a one time thing and you book a time to go in and if you leave thats it? Thanks
Tina Kassalen says
In the new reservation system, it says to pick a time. Are we limited to a block of time at the park, or are we able to stay the full time the park is open?
DFB Sarah says
Tina, we don’t know the answer to this yet, but we’re curious, too. We will update when we learn more tomorrow!
DFB Sarah says
Hayley, we don’t know yet, but we will update tomorrow.
DFB Sarah says
Teresa, we think it’ll be 7AM EST, but Disney has not confirmed this. Good luck!
DFB Sarah says
Angel, APs are limited to three reservations (unless they’ve got a Resort reservation, then they can book for that Resort stay) at a time. But we expect you’ll be able to book multiple Park reservations as long as the Park is available on the dates you’re trying to book. So, in theory, I think you will be able to book the MK for three consecutive Fridays (per your example). It may be that as soon as you use up one of those dates, you can grab another, but we won’t really be able to confirm ANY of this until the system is live. Good luck!
DFB Sarah says
Lauren, based on the info from Disney, I think yes. “If you have a room-only reservation at a Disney Resort or other select hotel for a stay in 2021, please call the Disney Reservation Center or call your travel professional beginning on June 24 to upgrade to a vacation package with tickets—and then make your theme park reservations.”
DFB Sarah says
Amy, those folks will be considered as having a room-only reservation, and Disney says guests in that situation will be able to purchase tickets on June 24 (and make their Disney Park Pass reservation from there. Here’s the language: If you have a room-only reservation at a Disney Resort or other select hotel for a stay in 2021, please call the Disney Reservation Center or call your travel professional beginning on June 24 to upgrade to a vacation package with tickets—and then make your theme park reservations.
DFB Sarah says
Jessica, we don’t know this yet, but we’ll report back anything we find out when the system goes live tomorrow!
DFB Sarah says
Jack, we reached out to Disney today, and we were told that was sufficient. Be sure the confirmed AP is linked in your Disney account. If not, give Disney a call beforehand to ensure you’re ready for tomorrow.
Marcia Harrison says
Can I book the reservation for the parks on Disney App on my phone or do I have to go the mydisneyexperience.com website on the computer?
Judith says
All this uncertainty isn’t good for my health! We’ve rearranged our villa, car hire and flights from the UK to next April from the April just gone. We now find we might end up with a fortnight in Orlando but be unable to even visit the parks as we might not be able to get park reservations. It is so stressful. What was meant to be the holiday of a lifetime this year is fast turning into an absolute nightmare. All we can do is cross our fingers (and toes) in the hope that we can get the reservations we want.
DFB Sarah says
David, when the Parks reopen, Extra Magic Hours are suspended, so no worries there. If EMH are reinstated, we will update. We don’t know yet what the policy is for leaving the Park and returning — in your example, leaving for a meal in DS and then going back to the Park. We think it’ll be fine, but we want to confirm tomorrow.
Cindy says
Hi!
Thank you for all the amazing info!
Will in park/resort dining reservations be available tomorrow as well( if so, does that open at 6am like normal) or just park reservations beginning at 7am?
Thanks so much!
Susan Reece says
Hi guys, we’re booked for April 2021, coming from the UK for 10 days. We have hotel and tickets booked, and I’m more than happy to log on tomorrow and book each day to a park. Does this mean that we will have to eat in the same park that we ate visiting that day? Would we for example be able to go to MK, but book a table at Epcot on the same day for dinner? With the parks not even being open yet I know things may change, and it’s a long time till we arrive….
Love the blog, my mother-in-law and myself have watched basically all of your videos during lockdown over here!☺️
DFB Sarah says
Kerrie, I would try DVC Member Services first, but otherwise, those with room-only reservations are eligible to purchase tickets and access DIsney Park Pass reservations on June 24.
DFB Sarah says
Jacqui, Disney says “ticket eligibility is tied to your package travel dates”, and we have not seen any limits on the number of days.
Nancy Solman says
My question is about the Florida Resident Tickets. I have two When can I make new reservations to the park? Is it June 28th.? I have the original tickets printed from my computer but I have noticed that my tickets are on my Disney app with my name and his and expiration of 9/30/2020 but I did not notice a number.
Rick Roberts says
Wow this seems like a lot work for a ..”vacation”..I luv WDW..been going for many years & as Writer/Producer ( http://www.hcgrp.net) even covered some special evens like EPCOT’s opening but geez…I realize everyone needs o be careful & cautious w Covid which is still a very serious threat; but I will probably will not go back until there is a simpler way to make reservations etc etc
Sara says
Any tips on removing my mom from my room reservation & replacing her w/ a friend already linked in MDE, bc out of our control Mom is too high risk to come. I was told the system was locked, to call Mon. A.M. Others added a guest to their resort reservation just yesterday. I’m not wanting to add extra guests just replacing my mom with my friend bc of the situation we are faced with. I’m concerned if I wait until after the system is open I may miss out on getting reservations for park day days if it takes a while to do this as an AP holder.
DFB Sarah says
Sara, I have not heard about people being unable to remove or add party members. Disney specifically said that could be done before you access the reservation system. You should be able to do that right in My Disney Experience. If not, I’m sorry, my only advice would be to contact Disney again to try to sort it out. Perhaps call the VIPassholder services if you don’t make progress calling regular reservations. Good luck!
DFB Sarah says
Nancy, as long as your tickets show in your Disney account, you should be set to make your reservations. If your ticket is a standard Florida Resident Park ticket, I think your Disney Park Pass access is June 28. If you have a Florida Resident Annual Pass, you should be able to access the system on June 26. Here’s the page with info about dates.
