Disney has dropped a TON of news over the last few days.
Spaceship Earth
And while many things in the parks are changing and remaining closed for the time being, Disney has officially confirmed that Spaceship Earth will remain open for the time being.Â
We previously shared that Orlando Sentinel had confirmed that Spaceship Earth would be reopening with EPCOT on July 15th. But now, Disney has confirmed it as well. The attraction was supposed to go under an extensive refurbishment on May 26, 2020. But plans have now changed.

According to Disney, “the iconic Spaceship Earth attraction at EPCOT will also continue to be available in its current state while we pause on its planned refurbishment.” So, for now, it looks like Disney is still planning to move forward with the refurbishment, it has just been halted.

We are planning an early summer 2023 trip. I worry a little about a potential reburb plan impacting our trip. Did we have any idea how long Spaceship Earth would have closed due to the original reburb plan?
will the refurbishment of the pool at Art of Animation schedule change or is it still scheduled to be closed in September 2020?
Wylie, excellent question. I think timelines for construction are up in the air, but we’ll keep checking on our Resort walks and online.
Rebecca, DIsney had not released a timeline, and they rarely do until a project is near completion. We will keep an eye on SSE!
