Craig says
Hi, I currently have a DVC resort reservation for August 9-15. My wife and I have annual passes but my two kids don’t have tickets yet. When can we get tickets for them and make reservations for the entire family?
MB says
At 2:40 the video states, “If you have a room only reservation and need to purchase tickets you can do so beginning June 24,” but that information is nowhere on the WDW website, and the June 24 date seems to only be valid for 2021 reservations, and no 2020 reservations. Would be helpful if there was some clarification on this as the currently video info is misleading and it seems lots of folks of hotel only reservations right now through the end of 2020 and are trying to figure out when we might have the option to purchase tickets.
DFB Sarah says
Craig, you might try calling DVC Member Services to see if it’s different for you, but this is what Disney says for guests with room-only reservations:
If you have a room-only reservation at a Disney Resort or other select hotel for a stay in 2021, please call the Disney Reservation Center or call your travel professional beginning on June 24 to upgrade to a vacation package with tickets—and then make your theme park reservations.
DFB Sarah says
Hi, MB. The information about room-only reservations is this: “If you have a room-only reservation at a Disney Resort or other select hotel for a stay in 2021, please call the Disney Reservation Center or call your travel professional beginning on June 24 to upgrade to a vacation package with tickets—and then make your theme park reservations.” That’s from this page on disneyworld.com. This also applies to guests with 2020 Resort room reservations who had not purchased tickets yet. The 2021 reservations will open June 28.
MB says
Sarah – where is the source that 2020 resort room reservation holders who have not yet purchased tickets will be able to do so on June 24? We haven’t found that anywhere on Disney’s site.
DFB Sarah says
MB, I think what you want is here.
Michelle Singleton says
Could you please clarify. The link takes you to the Disney page that talks about 2021 resort reservations, not 2020. We made resort only reservations back in March and planned on adding tickets later but now I can’t find a clear answer. Our reservations are for Oct 2020.
DFB Sarah says
Hi, Michelle. You’re right; that info is for 2021 trips. New ticket sales for 2020 are going to be released “later this summer”, but there’s no date for that from Disney… yet. We will update when we know. It could be as soon as next week, according to info from a reader who called Disney yesterday to ask.
Denise Wright says
What about if you did DVC rental we are staying at Saratoga Springs in December should we be able to book our tickets on June 24?
DFB Sarah says
Denise, if you have the Resort stay in your Disney account but you still need to buy tickets for December 2020, I think you’re left to wait until new ticket sales resume. Disney says this will be “later this summer”, but it could be as soon as next week (a reader was told that by a Disney CM on the phone).
