Disney World’s new Park Pass Reservation System was set to go live this morning and should now be open to guests with existing hotel reservations.
Today, ONLY guests with existing tickets and hotel reservations can make a park pass reservation. Annual Passholders WITHOUT a resort stay can make reservations starting June 26th. Then on June 28th, existing ticket holders can make reservations. But, this morning is off to a VERY bumpy start, people.
The Disney World website seemed SUPER-glitchy this morning, leaving a lot of folks waiting while the Seven Dwarfs are “working on it!”
We had multiple team members trying to access the Park Pass System for several hours this morning, and all of them were still experiencing technical difficulties for over an hour — even while other guests were reporting that they’d already gotten their park passes. We keep seeing Stitch “eating” a lot of webpages this morning!
Click here for more information regarding Disney World’s Park Pass System, including our tutorial!
But here’s a little interesting thing we spotted — on this Cinderella Castle error page, you can see they’ve changed its color to pink to reflect its new makeover!
At least we had that little moment of excitement to tide us over while we wait to snag our Disney World Park Passes!
At around 9AM ET, many other guests had already reported getting through to the system, and were giving advice on various social media channels and message forums on how they did it. Usually this included getting to the system via a workaround. At this time many guests still were not able to get into the system.
What finally worked for us was closing all of our current web pages, googling a Disney Springs restaurant, and making a dining reservation, which finally allowed us to actually log-in to our accounts. (Previously, any time we’d tried to log-in to our accounts we had been taken to the “castle waiting” page OR we’d been told that our passwords weren’t valid — something that had also been reported by many of our readers and social media followers.)
Once we’d logged in by making our dining reservation, we were able to click over to the Park Pass page and finally were given the opportunity to make our park passes. For each of our team members this took various amounts of time — some were able to do the workaround easily, but others were timed out several times and had to try the workaround multiple times.
Once we were into the actual system, things were smoother. But we’ve heard at least one report from a reader saying that while making park passes for other family members, the system is telling them that a park pass “limit” has been reached. We’d love to hear your experiences in the comments below!

Greg J. Hipius says
Hello, everyone. Here is my experience:
At 8:36 AM, I got into the park reservation system on one computer (the other two remained on the pink castle waiting screen). I was able to make park reservations smoothly for the first four days (of our ten park days in mid-August), then found no availability for one day. I skipped it and reserved another four days, before I found no availability for the tenth day. I re-checked the middle day I skipped, and checked our arrival day too – no availability any more. Then I checked all the days before and afterward in August – nothing. Then out of morbid curiosity, I went even further – no park availability as far as the eye can see. The time was now 8:51. So, all park availability dried up in 15 minutes (and my other two computers never even got the login screen – one still doesn’t have it an hour later! – so I feel for others out there who couldn’t even get in). Our tough pill to swallow: the two days we lost were two of our three Magic Kingdom days. I wish there was a way to safely trade one of our other days with someone for a MK day, but I know that will be impossible.
How did everyone else do? I’m wondering if I was on the fortunate end of things or the unlucky end of things, getting 8 of 10 desired days (such that unless something opens up later, we’ll have two wasted days)?
Derron says
A few minutes my screen change to the login. I logged in and it went directly to a page that says “We’re Almost in Orbit” with a picture of space mountain and a 12 minute countdown. The first time i received this it went to a blank screen on the Disney website. After a refresh, it is counting down again…sigh.
BD says
Still sitting on the “Just a moment” castle page since 7AM. It’s now 9:57AM. How Disney doesn’t have the system capacity or ability to spin up more resources for events like this is mind boggling.
Christine says
Took me almost 3 hours but I finally got in and was able to make park reservations. Don’t give up!
Tammy says
It seems to be up now, just be prepared to wait. It looks like you can access the reservation system through either a button at the top of the Park Pass info page or a link on your My Plans page to view availability. They both seem to direct you to the same place. You will probably be redirected to a page that will have you wait several minutes to login. Then you will have to wait again for the “create party” page to load. Once it loads though, it’s super easy to make your reservations one day at a time. The time windows it gave me were actually the full park hours for each day. I don’t know if this is a special thing for people with existing reservations, but at least for right now the arrival windows are very generous once you get it to load.
Jackie says
@jordan
It’s only taking reservations through 9/26. It’s on the website.
I’ve been waiting 3 hours.
Allison says
My page now says that I’m in a waiting room as a lot of guests are accessing the system. Don’t click back or refresh, it says, or you’ll start over.
Shelle K says
I was able to reserve tickets for the 5 days we are going. I did not log in right away. I went into the park pass reservation system under my disney experience and it took me to an “orbiting” page. I waited there for about 10mins, then was able to log in and immediately do reservations. This bypassed the “pink castle” waiting room.
CodeSpyder says
We have a valid 4-night reservation in September at Riviera Resort. I was only able to get 3 park reservations. Others are experiencing the same issue.
Jay says
It took 3 hours but I finally got into the Park Pass system. I kept opening the Park Pass page from My Disney Experience tab and got into the waiting room. After 20-30 minutes I was asked to sign in again into my Disney account, which lead to the Park Pass reservation page. Then I selected members of my party, picked the date and park to visit, and the time (which are just the operating hours for the park that day). Checked the agree to terms box, clicked submit and the pass was added to my plans. Repeated those steps for each day of the stay. Whew!
cartracer20 says
I was able to get on around 8:20 and successfully reserved 5 park days for mid-November. Your success rate may be determined based on how soon your reservations fall. Good luck everyone and I hope they are able to work out all the kinks!
Jonas says
At about 10:00 am Eastern, the system finally let me in. I’m an annual pass holder with a resort reservation in mid August. I was able to make park reservations for all 6 days of my trip.
DU says
@BD you are 100% correct. Like LC said earlier in this post they should have done this in tiers. This is one of the most frustrating things about Disney..the little things. They do theme parks better than anyone in the world. I would assume running these parks is very difficult therefore, everything else should be very simple for them…nope. Something as simple as this they screw up. They also said we have to make dining reservations by calling in again…why? You have an amazing website that does exceptionally well with reservations. So I call in and wait on hold for hours? Gimmie a break!
Toni says
I got up at 6:30am to book reservations for my daughter’s sweet 26 that we’ve been planning for months. I was on for hours trying to get in only to keep going to the reservations page and have nothing show up. Finally dawned on me that maybe it’s the tablet (iPad Pro). I went on my husband’s computer and got right on ONLY to get one measly park for our whole trip. I am beyond frustrated!
Michele Klinger says
I was sitting on the “Just A Moment” screen with the castle for almost a good 2 hours after being on right at 7am. After I got in, it was such an easy process!
Gregory says
I have been trying to get my park passes since 7am. I tried work around and everything. we were only able to get two of our 6 days. it is now telling us there are no park passes available for the rest of the year. Our trip is in early September. I am thoroughly disappointed as we paid for park admission fro 6 days.
DFB Sarah says
Joe, any chance you clicked through the Calendar with AP rather than Resort stay? We’re not sure why this is happening, but it seems to be happening to some APs but not others.
I’ve got the team looking into it!
DFB Sarah says
Gregory, I would recommend continuing to check. Today seems to be electronic chaos, and hopefully when the digital dust settles, it’ll work out for you.
Allison says
UDPATE: Used an incognito window, and it worked! 🙂
DOLLY SHERMAN says
Are we only able to make 3 one day reservations with a week long resort stay as an AP? WTH??? I will most certainly cancel my remaining days at the resort if that is the case. And likely take the refund and not the extra months for next year. Ugh
Jonas says
I tried logging it at 7:00 am Eastern and experienced the same issues as everyone else–waiting endlessly with the “pink castle screen.” I tried logging in on multiple computers, and around 10:00 am Eastern, one of them finally let me through to the reservation system. We are annual pass holders with a mid-August resort reservation. I was able to book park reservations for all 6 consecutive days of our stay. Keep trying, and good luck everyone!
DFB Sarah says
Jay, big thanks for sharing your experience!
DFB Sarah says
CodeSpyer, I hope you end up being able to get that last day’s reservation.
Myke D says
Been on for hours. get through to system. Annual pass holder AND Stayting in disney for 8 night. Can’t make one single reservation. System keeps failing
Shayne says
Finally got in at 10:00 am Central and no availability for the entire length of our stay — 7/25 through 8/1.
Amanda says
Update – Success!! Reservations made after waiting almost 3 hours to get in.
DFB Sarah says
Dolly, you should be able to make length-of-stay reservations for Disney Park Pass, but others are saying they’re also having trouble. You may end up needing to call to clarify or keep trying.
BD says
Finally got in to create my party. Clicked submit and Olaf tells me there’s been a problem. Retried several times and then finally had to navigate back to the My Plans page and now I’m back in the castle holding queue again.
Hillary says
Where does it show park reservations we have a trip in December can we make park reservations at this time
Michelle says
We have two upcoming trips (Sept and December). One being 4 nights, one 5. I was locked out after 3 park days while my husband didn’t have any issues. Can’t get through to speak to anyone either
Alice Richards says
This seems like a completely silly way to do things, I do not travel to WDW for 449 days, I’ve never been before I don’t know what I want to do everyday for 2 weeks while I’m there, what if the weather is bad one day – seems to ruin the spontaneity of a holiday
Deanna says
Hi everyone! I waited an hour and a half. We’re annual passholders with a hotel reservation but my mother has a regular park admission ticket. Hers was successful but apparently our tickets weren’t linked which I found odd. Tried to link them through the site (they’re already linked in the app) which I thought I had done already but was taken to a safety precautions page. There’s a ton of bugs and glitching happening. I’m still unable to link a reservation and cannot reach anyone. I’ve given up for the day, I think. It’s too frustrating being taken to repeat pages that aren’t where I’m needing to go.
Jay says
We were able to get 3 out of our 6 days, however it seems like that’s our limit. We tried to call the reservation line and chat with a cast member through the app, but nothing is connecting. Is the site down? How can it be that there is no park avaliblity for an entire year?
Jeanne says
They should have done a tiered reservation based on check-in date. Finally got I. With a work around. It let me book the 4 days for my July trip. Went to book my October trip and it would only let me book one day, then gave me an error saying I had reached my limit. Tried booking December trip started to give me one day but when I went to confirm it kicked e out. I’ve been try to call (have dialed over 800 times) but all I get is a busy signal. Guess I’ll wait on the other trips & try later
Laura says
No luck here. 10:45 and been trying since 7am. Probably going to end up cancelling three Disney vacations because of this. 🙁
Pam says
I started at 6 am CST and was looking everywhere. I couldn’t login to MDE on the website but my app was up. I couldn’t find anywhere to login on the app so I went back to my email. Finally, around 7:15am I saw the little blue button on the top right and clicked it. I got the “orbit” countdown, I did it on my phone and had 3 windows open doing the same thing. Every other 30 second increment, it would add 30 seconds back on. My phone had the lowest count down but about 7:45 my computer “broke thru” first. I was able to book all 4 days in mid-September at my 1st park pick. When I went to “review my plans” on my computer instead of “continue” at the end, I got the pink castle again. I opened my app to verify they were all booked and they were there in “My Plans” so I closed out of all windows. It was so stressful!
Liz says
I’ve been waiting 5 hours now, still can’t get in.
MANDMM says
We have a resort reservation and we are also Platinum AP, but the system will NOT let us make more than 3 Park reservations even though our stay is longer. We’ve been on hold (on the phone) for going on 2 hours in hopes that someone can fix this. The system would not allow us to make park passes for our 2021 resort stays either.
Sandy says
I’ve been trying to access the system for 5 hours and still haven’t gotten in. When I get past the castle page, I cannot sign in. Yes, I kept trying, but nothing. Of course, it’s not possible to reach the IT department to find out why this is happening.
I’ve also tried going through the restaurant reservation system but get the page with the Millenium Falcon. This is very frustrating!
DFB Sarah says
Sandy, I’m sorry your experience is so frustrating. I hope the situation improves.
Christie R says
I’ve been trying to make reservations for over 5 hours. I’m an AP holder and DVC member with a resort reservation for December. I was able to make 3 reservations for my 7 day stay, but then the system told me I had reached my limit. Not sure if this is because the system is not picking up on my resort reservation because it is through DVC? It’s definitely acknowledging the hotel reservation but only for the 3 allotted AP spots. I tried calling almost 150 times and finally am now on hold; at the 31 minute mark so far…
MiMi says
I cannot get in to the system to link our March resort reservations to my MDE and it sates they have to linked before making. Park reservation on the 24rh. I’ve tried calling several numbers but get the quick busy signal. Any ideas what I should do?
Todd says
Somehow this is not shocking. Every time Disney rolls out something like this there are technical problems. My Disney Experience continues to have frequent problems with functionalities that have been in place for many years. Something either needs addressed with IT architecture or they fail to utilize proper testing protocals prior to release. The last few months should have provided an excellent opportunity to improve things considering there wasn’t any guest usage.
Bruce Hinterleitner says
5 hours in. At 4.5 hours I received you are following an expired link please try again. So…
MiMi says
I was thinking the same thing. LC state’s. This should have been done rolled out by reservation date to avoid all this.! I hope they give the 24th and 28th big dates some thought.
Dorothy says
I have been trying for hours. I’m so frustrated and sad.
John Neth says
I, along with a lot of other people, have an active AP and resort reservations, all linked to MDE, but can only get park reservations for 3 days. It’s treating me like an AP holder without resort reservations.
But. it obviously recognized my resort reservations, or it shouldn’t have let me make any park reservations, since they don’t open up for AP without reservation until June 26.
Major, major glitch.
Carol says
It’s been over 5 hours for me. At the 4 hour mark, I got in and actually got 2 days (we’re staying for 9). On the 3rd reservation, I was in the middle of confirming it when it kicked me all the way back to the castle page. On at least one of the dates, it would say no parks are available but a second later they were all available. When I went to October it said there were no parks available and I hadn’t even put in a date. Disney really does not have their act together.

I was using my phone and my wife went and used her laptop to login and it took only a half hour and then she was in to make our reservations. So trying using a laptop or desktop not a phone.
