Disney World’s new Park Pass Reservation System was set to go live this morning and should now be open to guests with existing hotel reservations.
Today, ONLY guests with existing tickets and hotel reservations can make a park pass reservation. Annual Passholders WITHOUT a resort stay can make reservations starting June 26th. Then on June 28th, existing ticket holders can make reservations. But, this morning is off to a VERY bumpy start, people.
The Disney World website seemed SUPER-glitchy this morning, leaving a lot of folks waiting while the Seven Dwarfs are “working on it!”
We had multiple team members trying to access the Park Pass System for several hours this morning, and all of them were still experiencing technical difficulties for over an hour — even while other guests were reporting that they’d already gotten their park passes. We keep seeing Stitch “eating” a lot of webpages this morning!
Click here for more information regarding Disney World’s Park Pass System, including our tutorial!
But here’s a little interesting thing we spotted — on this Cinderella Castle error page, you can see they’ve changed its color to pink to reflect its new makeover!
At least we had that little moment of excitement to tide us over while we wait to snag our Disney World Park Passes!
At around 9AM ET, many other guests had already reported getting through to the system, and were giving advice on various social media channels and message forums on how they did it. Usually this included getting to the system via a workaround. At this time many guests still were not able to get into the system.
What finally worked for us was closing all of our current web pages, googling a Disney Springs restaurant, and making a dining reservation, which finally allowed us to actually log-in to our accounts. (Previously, any time we’d tried to log-in to our accounts we had been taken to the “castle waiting” page OR we’d been told that our passwords weren’t valid — something that had also been reported by many of our readers and social media followers.)
Once we’d logged in by making our dining reservation, we were able to click over to the Park Pass page and finally were given the opportunity to make our park passes. For each of our team members this took various amounts of time — some were able to do the workaround easily, but others were timed out several times and had to try the workaround multiple times.
Once we were into the actual system, things were smoother. But we’ve heard at least one report from a reader saying that while making park passes for other family members, the system is telling them that a park pass “limit” has been reached. We’d love to hear your experiences in the comments below!

Did you experience any issues with Disney’s new Park Pass Reservation System this morning? Let us know in the comments below!
Lori Bryant says
I was able to make 1 reservation on a Thurs for the time of our stay in Late September. Then all other days say no passes avail. I have a 4-day ticket. I want to use my tickets I paid for and postponed twice. This is very frustrating. Are they planning to add more available passes at a later date?
DFB Sarah says
MANDMM, thanks for sharing. That sounds so frustrating! I hope they sort it out; we’ve heard from other APs who had the same problem.
Tara says
I have had the same issues as you guys and when I finally did get through, the system only allowed me to reserve three days. I am an AP with a reservation for 11 nights and then a separate reservation for 8 nights. Can’t get through on any lines and I am about to throw my computer out the window!!
MC says
Thanks for the information. Happy to share my experience: I struggled until 9AM to access the park reservation system. Once inside I was able to make 3 reservations for my party. I then received the alert that I have exceed the park pass limit and could not make further recommendations. AP with two reservations at a resort hotel through the rest of the year. Then tried to get chat help. Grayed out. Tried to call. Busy signal or “All circuits are occupied.” At 11AM I was able to connect. On hold for just under 2 hours at this time. First time I’ve made it through the full France Epcot soundtrack on hold. Just hit my third Soarin’. 🙂
Steve-O says
So we have non-refundable air so we need to get in or we are out $1800 in flights…
I have been trying all morning to make a rez. We are staying at Colorado and have 5 days hopper tickets.
So far…
They took our dining plan…
They took our hopper…
They took away Magic Hours…
They took away character interactions…
These tickets still cost me the same amount and they have not given us the discount on our hotel rez either…
I am so disappointed in Disney right now… Nothing about this has been magical in any way so far…
DU says
6 hours still no luck…
Greg H says
I could make three park reservations for our Aug trip. We’re DVC and AP, so we have met the requirements. But it will not allow us to make any for the Nov trip, as it says that each of us has reached our three day limit.
DFB Sarah says
I agree, John; it seems to be a strange and frustrating glitch that only impacts some APs. We will keep trying to nail this down as far as updates on what’s going on, but all I can really recommend is continuing to try and/or making a call.
DFB Sarah says
Todd, as the wife of a software engineer, I tend to agree with you.
DFB Sarah says
MiMi, I think the online system is your best bet for adding your Resort reservation, and honestly, it might just take some time for the system to work for you. It seems to be giving lots of people lots of trouble.
Z. Maerz says
I sat in the “waiting room” Cinderalla castle page from 8:00ish to 9:28. I had three separate browser pages open with it to see which would give me access first. Finally my successful one came through on a private Firefox window. A bit misleading to get to the park pass reserving page–you have to go to park pass information page, and in the top right corner of said page is a button to make the reservations. It is not on yout plans page at all. Anyhow, upon clicking this button, I was presented with a countdown timer. It kept resetting while I was waiting. I waited there roughly 10 minutes, and I was then given access to the system. No issue booking dates/parks we needed (early November travel dates). Was able to book all 8 dates in one go. All it takes is some patience and diligence.
Vicky says
Going on 6 hours now 🙁 and I just get sent to the orbit page that doesn’t lead anywhere I don’t even get the count down that people have mentioned. Sometimes it goes to a page that looks like the bottom info on the normal site main page but that’s as far as I have got. Haven’t once been able to get passed the flying sauce so haven’t even managed to book one day 🙁
Steve-O says
Now, after waiting all this time, I get a WHITE blank page that just has the header links at the top and and second line with the copyright…
Nothing else…
ARGH!!!
Dawn F says
After waiting 3 hrs 15 minutes. I opened about 7 tabs. I was running on fumes, as I stayed up making sure I had all my ducks in a row. On my last tab I Googled “Disney World“ only. Clicked on their main web page. Scrolled down to picture with “Make a reservation.” I got the “Orbit screen with a countdown. After about 10 minutes it took me to my sign in page. I had to sign in 2 times as it said my password was wrong. I logged in. Then it took me to the “Specify your Travel Party” then to the calendar, choose your dates. The time is just the hours the parks are running that day. Not time slots like everyone was worried about.
Review , check the “I’ve read it all” box – confirm. Congratulations! Then repeat – Make another reservation. Good luck everyone!
Carol says
Just an update. After 6 hours, the system kicked back on for me and I got the rest of our days and parks. I have to say, though, I wish Disney had thought of a better system or tweaked this one before starting it up. We were so close to cancelling everything.
Steve-O says
I AM FINALLY IN!!! YAY!! I was able to get in and make all my rez’s for parks for all of my dates.
DOLLY SHERMAN says
I have been calling for hours to three different numbers and every line is just a busy signal
407-939-7917
407-939-5277
407-560-7277
I certainly hope once I get thru on one of these lines we can straighten out the issue and have a park reservation for each day. Any suggestions on which number is better or have any luck with a different number getting thru?
Thanks!!
Steve-O says
I just need to make my dinning reservations now… I am still having issues getting that done…
We are arriving in September 2020.
MC says
Update on AP with Resort Reservation Being Limited on reservations: I was able to reach an IT cast member. They are aware of the AP problem causing a limit of 3, 7, or 8 reservations. This is happening to most APs. They are working on the problem, but do not have a time table to correct the issue. She recommended trying again in 45 minutes to an hour. She recommended using the Chrome browser and to either delete cookie history or use an “Incognito” browser window to avoid old cookies that may continue to cause this problem. If you call in to support they will take your information and create a ticket. Once they think they have the problem they will go through the tickets and confirm your account is fixed.
DFB Sarah says
Greg, it sounds like APs are encountering some glitch here, unless the info Disney published about AP reservations was incorrect to begin with. I’m hoping the system sorts itself out, but you might end up needing to call to find out what’s going on. Sorry I don’t have more info for you.
Steve-O says
Oh, BTW, I am on a mac and have 1 tab open on 4 different browsers, FireFox, Safari, Chrome and Opera… All opened at about the same time, only Chrome gave me the login. Even after I got my rez, the other browsers had not popped up yet to let me login…
Maybe Chrome is the best bet to get this done?
Neera says
Have a DVC reservation and park passes and have been trying since 7am EST and its now 13:28. Able to sign in and click view availability. After that it goes to this page: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/park-reservations/ where there is nothing to click on or do. Have tried other ways to get to the park reservations page and all with the same result. Any suggestions? Trying to be patient, but it seems like I reach the promised land only to have a page that has nothing on it.
Laura says
I’m currently at over 6 hours trying to get in for our July 29- Aug 3 reservations. I’m getting sick of looking at this castle.
Matthew says
I was able to make reservations for 3 days. Clicking on the 4th brings up that there are no available reservation slots. Been happening for a couple hours where other people are saying they are successfully making reservations. So is it just me or what?
Will says
I got in around 9:45 this morning after being in various virtual queues and being kicked out a couple of times. I had no trouble booking for a late July trip, but when I got to our December trip, it appears Disney has blocked out Christmas week (12/21 on) because I could book the 19th and 20th, but nothing later. Mine also showed 2021 blank. I’m guessing they shut down access for 2021 and major holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) for this big wave of guests and will open those up later. Of course, that’s just my opinion, but if anyone got reservations for Christmas week, please comment.
DFB Sarah says
Cool experiment, Steve-O!
DFB Sarah says
MC, what a gem! THank you so much for updating!
DFB Sarah says
Steve-O, congrats!
DFB Sarah says
Carol, so relieved! I hope you can breathe more easily now.
DFB Sarah says
Will, this is the first I’ve heard of this, so hopefully if any other readers have experienced this, they’ll chime in. THanks for sharing your experience.
Julie Ryden says
When I finally got past the Castle page and onto the reservation page, I could only select the people in our party and the day (dates) we were going to be there but could not select a park. When I backed out and went back in, I am now on the castle page again. I have been there for about 2 1/2 hours. I called WDW reservations and was on hold for 2 hours. When I finally got through, I was told that since 2 of our party of 5 are not pass holders but have tickets that I would need to schedule the people that are annual pass holders first and then go back and schedule the other two with tickets next. I am now on hold for the IT department to make sure the annual pass holders and the tickets are attached to my disney experience. This is just crazy. I think Disney should have prepared themselves for this over-load and set up a better internet system to handle it.
Denise says
I’ve been working on our holiday trip this morning since 7:00am. It is now 2:00pm and I’m still struggling. I’m now getting a message that we’ve reached our park pass limit. I thought it was 14 for Platinum passholders but at a minimum the length of your stay as well as available for each stay. I’m not sure what to do at this point? Any insight?
DFB Sarah says
Matthew, it’s likely the system. I recommend you keep trying. It seems like lots of people are having lots of different experiences, unfortunately.
DFB Sarah says
Laura, can you open another browser window (one incognito, if you can) and see if that kicks in faster?
Jamie says
Finally got in around 11. We are AP and was able to get 4 reservations for our July stay. We have a Sept trip, I was only able to get 2 of the 3 days I wanted. It tells me we are at our max limit. On Disney chat they tell me this should not happen and they have logged a ticket.
Laura says
Success! Persistence paid off!
DU says
SUCCESS!!! I was able to book 7 days worth of reservations. I got lucky with the AP glitch not affecting me. I spun up several Chrome windows, within the hour I was able to get in. IE and Safari do not work as well. Good luck everyone!!! DFB ROCKS!!!
DFB Sarah says
Jamie, I’m glad they logged a ticket. I recommend trying again later (or, if you have time, intermittently this afternoon).
DFB Sarah says
Denise, Disney has not, to my knowledge, published a limit on the number of DPP folks can make, so I would recommend you keep trying when you can.
Jackie says
I waited over an hour and got timed out. I had to wait another hour to talk to someone on the phone. I was able to get Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Still wasn’t able to get Animal Kingdom. I was told that they were going to call in a ticket.
Joyce says
Since they didn’t give us a time I have been watching the page since midnight. I kept myself logged in in the MDE and around 10.00 I got the countdown site. At first it kept going back to 10 minutes and when it reached 7 I could make the reservations with no problems.
DFB Sarah says
Julie, I hear you; it’s been a long, frustrating day for a LOT of people. Disney has said this about parties with different tickets: “Note: You may need to make more than one Disney Park Pass reservation for your party depending on your admission type. Please make sure your party consists of Annual Passholders or theme park ticket holders.” Sounds like that’s the issue you’ve encountered. Other readers have said they were able to do everyone all at once in their party despite having different ticket media, but I think it’s another area where the website is glitchy. I’m glad you’re going to talk to IT. If you can see the tickets in your account, you might try doing the AP reservations and then the ticket reservations (day by day, would be my suggestion) while you’re on hold. See if you can get it to work in the meantime. Good luck!
Joyelle Snyder says
I have been up since 5….didn’t go on till 930am. AP holder with 4 reservations can only make 3 reservations. On the phone on hold for 4 and half hours so far. Beyond frustrated and at the point to just get all the money back.
DFB Sarah says
Joyelle, another reader says the AP three-day limit issue is being worked on by IT. Not much consolation, I know, but hopefully it’ll kick in for you soon!
Emily says
I have a trip planned for November. Just finally got in around 1:45 pm! Was only allowed to make one day and then it says there are no parks available for the rest of my trip. I went into next year to test out the dates and every single day it says nothing is available. I hope this is a glitch 😞
DFB Sarah says
DU, thanks for the update!
DFB Sarah says
Congrats, Laura!
DFB Sarah says
Neera, I hope they’re getting the system to work more smoothly this afternoon. Only advice is to keep trying. And some readers suggested better luck with an incognito window. Maybe try that?
Cecilia says
I got ready right at 7am and it took 2 hours to get rid of the Castle and finally log into my account to make a reservation, I clicked on 8/19 or check in date and booked MK ! excited !
I proceed to book day 2 of Our 6 Park days and no park is available, I have been clicking the whole month and says nothing is available no matter what day or park I want, sadly I have sat here off and on for 7 hours and I have logged off and logged on many times hoping it would help with no luck!
So is this real or is it a system glitch, are all the days already booked for the entire months?!?
If so this is sad as I would have to cancel our trip as I am not driving 2 days each way for a 12 night stay with only 1 park reservation- please tell me this isn’t soo..,
STEVE-O I think your right Chrome is what I’m using and outside of waiting my turn a bit I’ve had no issues logging in aside from the 7am 2 hr wait ..
Very disappointed- we go to Disney every year but this was our BIG Disneyland and Disneyworld In the same trip Year for our anniversary and it seems as it is not going to be possible ..
I guess there are worse things in life at the moment and as my hubby says at least we are alive and healthy
Anyone else unable to finish booking their total number of passes?
Thank you and have a great day!
DFB Sarah says
Lori, I think they’ll be assessing capacity based on the reservations they get over the next several days, and that will lead them to those new 2020 ticket sales and reservations. Only time will tell. As for today, I would say keep trying. When we look at the availability calendar, we see dates open.
