Disney World will officially begin the phased reopening of its theme parks on July 11th.
As Disney rolled out their new Park Pass Reservation System, guests were unable to purchase tickets and to make new hotel reservations. That is, until now!
As of THIS morning, you can officially book 2021 Disney World vacation packages. Do keep in mind that at this time, not all of the Disney World hotels are showing as available for 2021.
Guests can currently book a new Disney World vacation (including tickets and your hotel room) from January 1, 2021 – September 27, 2021. Of course, more dates should become available over time and we will update you when they do!
And while Disney has shared that Park Hopping is unavailable for the time being, it is listed as a 2021 ticket option.
Disney does note that Park Pass Reservations are required for entry.
After attempting to check out, we were redirected to a loading screen, similar to the one we saw when trying to make Park Pass Reservations a few days ago. So, the site may be a little busy meaning that you may experience a bit of a wait as you try to book your next Disney vacay.
After a few minutes, our load screen disappeared and we were able to proceed with checking out!! We will continue to keep you updated as we explore more details on 2021 Disney Vacation Packages and the booking process. So, stay tuned!

Seriously? Brilliant idea to launch THIS today. Whate are they thinking?
Whitney says
I’m experiencing this right now. When I try to make the park pass reservations though nothing is available thru September 2021. Should I go ahead and book our package?
DFB Sarah says
Whitney, we’ve only seen availability through September 26, 2021, so far even though the calendar is clickable beyond that. I personally made a reservation for next September, and all the DPP dates were available. I think keep trying because it’s still glitchy here and there.
Amanda says
I just logged on to book for June and WHOA those hotel prices went up considerably.
Carrie says
do you know the reason why Riverside isn’t available yet, and/or when it will be available? My fiancée has her heart set on Riverside for our Honeymoon in February.
Mel says
We were able to make our package for March this morning, so thanks for the heads up, but to be honest I don’t even feel the magic and excitement that I typically feel because everything is unknown and changing so often. We already had to cancel 2 prior trips including the one we had for this July. Even the March trip we can’t stay in our ideal resort hotel and I feel like the cost may not be outweighing the benefits. Hopefully this trip sticks for us and I’ll feel the magic as we get closer. My two little princesses have never been and we are so sad to have to keep canceling and compromising!
DFB Sarah says
Carrie, no info on that yet, but we’ll be watching to see when additional Resorts are made available.
Aarif says
Are they letting you book a dining plan for 2021?
Helen says
I’m confused, we cancelled our holiday in April and changed to Feb 2021 before they blocked booking 2021. Can I book park reservations now?
Amy says
One glitch to this offering—I have a DVC reservation for Jan and was not able to purchase park tickets because they are only allowing room + ticket packages. I was told I have to wait until the 28th to purchase standalone tickets so I may not even be able to get into the parks now because it could be “sold out”.
Sabrina says
Is there not going to be Disney dining plans for 2021?
Swagg says
If you are having trouble with getting stuck on waiting screens, clear cache and cookies. On the one screen I did that too I got in immediately.
Also if you go through the vacation planning screen from the bottom of page menu I had better luck with short to no waiting times 🙂
Jeff Demke says
Do you expect 2021 to be busier than normal? When would be the best time (least croweded) to schedule a trip for 2021?
Claire Rogers says
We already had park tickets linked to the my disney experience and although I have booked a resort stay I am unable to book our park reservations for another 30 days as my reservation will not be linked until then!!!! No sense to that 🙁
Jay says
Are DVC reservations still held to their 11 month home-resort booking window? Thanks for all of your input!
Sil says
Also showing complimentary magic bands available for next summer. Had no problems with Park Passes.
Sil says
I think the phasing in of resort opening will coincide with park capacity increases. So, I’m going to guess the park pass system will go with it which is why they are offering the park hopping now. It was odd to make park passes with a park hopper in hand.
DFB Sarah says
Jay, I’m not sure on this. I have heard so many things about DVC, it’s hard to keep them straight! I think your best bet is to call DVC Member Services to be sure.
DFB Sarah says
Claire, that’s frustrating! I assume you called Disney to try to sort it out? Even if you did, it might be worth trying to talk to someone else. We often get different information/service depending on the CM on the other end of the line or chat. Good luck!
DFB Sarah says
Jeff, ooh, what a good question. Honestly, I don’t know what to recommend. I think with 2020 being such a… let’s say disaster… it’s going to be a strange time in the World in 2021 as well. Add to all the rebooked trips and new temporary/permanent changes AND it being Disney World’s 50th anniversary, I think there are too many variables to think about right now. Typically the lower crowd times tend to be in January/February (with the exceptions of long weekends and holidays) and September/October, but I really don’t know how that will carry over to next year.
DFB Sarah says
Sabrina, DDP is temporarily suspended. Disney has indicated they’ll be returning, but there’s no announced timeline for that information.
DFB Sarah says
Amy, what a bummer! I will say, it’s nice to hear another confirmation that 2020 ticket sales are likely to resume on Sunday. Until now, that date has been “later this summer.” Good luck with everything!
DFB Sarah says
Helen, if you have valid tickets associated with your Resort stay and your Disney account, you should be able to book Disney Park Passes now. I think you should even be able to purchase tickets for 2021 and make the Park Pass reservations as of this morning as well.
Jonathan says
I’ve been on hold with Disney for the past 90 minutes. Music was playing for those 90 minutes and then just stopped. Phone says connected, I don’t know if I should hang up and try again, or wait it out. This takes the magic out of things…
Jim Anthony says
Has there been a policy change on modifying reservations. I booked at my home resort, SSR, on May 8th, 2021, and added an extra day for the last two weeks. Yesterday and today (24), it wouldn’t allow me to add my last extra day of Saturday May 29th night. Weird. Also, you guys are doing a great job with such difficult questions.
DFB Sarah says
Aarif, haven’t seen DDP available. Disney has not released info about when it might come back. They did previously announce that 2021 reservations could book Park Hoppers, so that’s something else to watch for updates.
Leah says
I booked for March 2021 (All-Stars and POR were not available). I got 6 day tickets and it allowed (had) me reserve park days but only allowed me 3 before it cut me off…. (no idea) Obviously this is all still a work in progress. As for calling Disney today- Good Luck- the circuits have all been busy today.
jaan says
Carrie, I was told Port Orleans and Wilderness Lodge NOT booking through 2020 and some of 2021. Sorry. I had travel agent change me in order to reserve tickets. I really wanted the Lodge at Christmas time and Riverside was my close second.
Steve H says
If you have hotel booked how do you just purchase Tickets? the site won’t let me.
Brian says
Maybe I’m mistaken, but didn’t the room rates used to show the rate as AFTER tax (with the tax included)? Even if it didn’t, I just pulled up my reservation from Pop Century in 2018 for the same Sunday as one in 2021. The rate was $155 including tax in 2018. Now for 2021 it will be about $201. That is insane!
Monique sullivan says
When can I get a ticket? My daughter is able to go, I have an existing resort stay and tickets and reservations. But she needs a ticket.
Pamela Collins says
Carrie- Was wondering the same thing! I asked a cast member this morning through chat and he told us that Port Orleans, since it doesn’t have a opening date yet, no reservations are going to be available. That’s all he could tell me though.
Once it is announced or does, I’d imagine that’s when you’ll be able to do so.
Jim Anthony says
Has Disney suspended reservation modifications? We booked our home resort starting May 8, 2021 and added a day every day for the last two weeks. Yesterday and today(24 th), the message about modifying dates was absent from my sign in page so I haven’t been able to add Saturday the 29th nite. Also, you guys are doing a great job answering everyone’s tough question. Cheers.
Megan says
Can you list which resorts are available to book and which are still pending? Thank you
Emme says
Should Floridians from the current COVID hot spots be asked not to come to the park?
Capt. Jack says
Ha, Ha Ha, If Disney discounted there packages 50%, and threw in a delux free dining plan, I’d still be on the fence given the cutbacks they are offering! Looks to me they are preying on there fan Base!
Chris says
I am confused, when are park tickets available with a 2020 hotel reservation?
DFB Sarah says
Thanks, Jim. I have not heard anything about DVC suspending reservations. I think if it didn’t end up working for you yesterday evening, you might want to call Member Services. Hopefully you won’t encounter too long of a wait. Also, thanks!
DFB Sarah says
Monique, if your trip is for 2021, it sounds like new ticket sales will be available June 28. If it’s for 2020, Disney says “later this summer”, and we have not been able to get a confirmation from Disney about it.
DFB Sarah says
Steve, if you’re trying to buy tickets for 2020, those will resume “later this summer” according to Disney. If you’re looking for 2021 tickets sales, here’s the info from Disney: “If you have a room-only reservation at a Disney Resort or other select hotel for a stay in 2021, please call the Disney Reservation Center or call your travel professional beginning on June 24 to upgrade to a vacation package with tickets—and then make your theme park reservations.”
DFB Sarah says
Leah, that happened to me. I switched from my phone to my laptop and got what I needed. Definitely think the glitches are still around.
DFB Sarah says
Chris, Disney has only said “later this summer.” Readers are reporting being told it could be as early as Sunday, June 28. But we couldn’t get confirmation from Disney.
carole says
seems a bit unfair that AP’s (who are local and do not stay at parks) have not been able to reserve theme park reservations.
Tim says
Do you think using David’s Vacation Club is a good alternative to get a reservation for a suite at half the WDW room rate? Any cautions
Stephanie says
We are wanting to travel in late October 2021 to experience the Food and Wine Festival, MNSSHP and, of course, the 50th anniversary!!! Does anyone have an idea when those dates will be available??
DFB Sarah says
Stephanie, no word on dates for that timeframe. We wouldn’t normally learn about Food and Wine Festival and MNSSHP dates until early-to-mid 2021 typically, so I would expect at to wait at least until then.
