Disney World has implemented a number of new safety requirements for guests and Cast Members, including social distancing and face coverings.
While there are guidelines for face masks and social distancing to keep everyone safe, there are some situations in the parks that may prevent Cast Members from maintaining the recommended six feet of distance from guests.
For example, some guests will need to have their height checked in order to confirm they are tall enough to safely ride an attraction. So, Unite Here Local 362 has confirmed a new safety measure to address such situations for attractions Cast Members! If an employee is unable to maintain social distancing due to the nature of their role, they will also be given a face shield to wear as a second barrier on top of their face mask.
Cast Members have already started to be called back to hotels, restaurants, festivals, and attractions in Disney World in preparation for the reopening of the parks next month. Upon reopening, many of the attractions throughout Disney World will be available.
We’ll be heading to the parks for live coverage of the reopenings to see what’s new around Disney World — including all the health and safety measures! So be sure to stay tuned!

Hi! Any list of approved face coverings for kids? Wondering if just a face shield for our 4 y/o would be allowed (that’s what they recommend at school since they’re so young and have a hard time keeping a cloth mask on). Thanks!

Nicole, we are getting mixed answers from Disney about face shields, so to be safe, you will want to plan for your youngster to wear a cloth mask. Hopefully we will get more clarity as the policy ages.
