Update: Disney has recently stated earlier reopening dates for transportation services than were previously given. Guests attending Annual Passholder previews will be able to ride the Monorail and Ferry Boats to and from the Ticket and Transportation Center and Magic Kingdom starting July 7th. Tram Service will not be available from the guest parking lots.
And if you were lucky enough to snag a spot, we want to share with you all of the important details you’ll need to know if you’re going!
Previously, Disney World announced July 9th and July 10th as the dates of its Annual Passholder previews at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom giving APs an opportunity to visit the parks BEFORE they reopened to the general public on July 11th and 15th.
Weekday Select, Theme Park Select, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus, and Premier Passholders were all eligible to register for the AP previews, and we learned a few new SUPER-important details when we snagged out spots today!
You Needed to Choose…
Annual Passholders could only register for ONE day (either July 9th or 10th) and ONE park (either Magic Kingdom or Disney’s Animal Kingdom) meaning you COULDN’T attend both previews. Registration was fairly simple. Guests selected the day and park they would like to attend the preview for, attached guests, and then confirmed. Keep in mind, you couldn’t make modifications after registering.
Spots Were Limited
Even though reservations to attend the Special Annual Passholder Preview Event are required, spots were limited, and available on a first-come, first-served basis. You needed to have an activated annual pass for AP preview registration and if you wished to bring a guest, they also needed to have an active annual pass.
Note: once you added a guest to your reservation, the system would not allow them to register themselves for the Annual Passholder preview.
What You’ll Need to Bring
If you were able to snag a spot to one of the Annual Passholder preview, do note that each person must bring their Annual Pass and a government-issued photo ID with them. You’ll also need to bring a copy of your confirmation page.
Passholders should expect to receive additional emails from Disney for their reservation 3 to 5 days prior to the event and if guests are planning on staying at a Disney Resort hotel, regular Disney transportation will be modified. You will need to provide your own transportation to the theme park parking lot.
Keep in mind, you will need to bring your own face covering which must be worn by everyone (ages 2 and up) at all times, except when dining or swimming.
And while Disney World has released some details about which restaurants, shops, and attractions will be open starting July 11th, some experiences may be limited or modified during the Annual Passholder previews.

Chris says
So disappointed never even received notification. I was really looking forward to coming back.
Kiera says
I’m an annual passholder and have been checking my email inbox everyday and never received anything about passholder previews from Disney…any idea why?
DFB Sarah says
Kiera, no idea! Some folks have noted that they never get AP emails, so it may be an issue with Disney’s email system.
Chris says
My app buzzed at me at 7:30 PM that the passholder preview registration “was now open”. Gee thanks Disney. Still haven’t received any email notifications. I didn’t know anything about it until I started seeing angry tweets, and by then of course it was full and too late. They should have sent out notifications at least a day in advance.
Justin says
Does anyone know the Park hours for the AP preview events? Wasn’t sure if they were the same as the opening day hours or if that would be listed in the reservation confirmation e-mail once sent.
DFB Sarah says
Justin, our team members received times of 9-7 for MK and 8-6 and DAK.
Rebecca Bryant says
WAs very disappointed. I never received a notice about the preview. I checked emails daily and nothing. Very upset by this after all the hoops we had to jump through when they first closed down about how we wanted to handle our passes. It truly was a disappointing moment both as an AP holder and a Blogger who does PR for Disney.
Any talk about why only certain people got emails or notifications?
Carolyn says
I’m with you Chris and Kiera, I have been annual pass holder for 5 years and waiting and watching for my e-mail, yes I get emails from Disney. But NOTHING. Never gave me the chance. Disappointed! Will go instead to Universal
Janet says
I get the emails for APs from Disney Destinations but not the one announcing I could now try to book a preview day. I got the first one telling me it’s coming. What a disappointment.
Mr. John says
You tubers are saying Disney might not open just like Disney Land ! When would Disney give notice In a week or less There will be very anger vacationer’s. DISNEY tell us all what will it be !!!🤣
Rachel says
We received a push notification and clicked on it right away. Waited in a very tall waiting room and was able to get the last slot for July 9 at animal kingdom.
Marguerite Fowerbaugh says
When will I be able to start making park reservations? My hotel reservation is the third week of October 2020 I’m still waiting for confirmation though at this time.
DFB Sarah says
Marguerite, if you have valid, confirmed tickets, you can make them now. If you do not have tickets, you’ll have to wait until Disney resumes new ticket sales for 2020, which they say will be later this summer.
Lisa says
I always have problems receiving AP emails. I’ve tried to reset it several times.
Has anyone not had their pass extended yet? I’m still waiting on mine. Thanks!
Kristina says
Hey DFB, do you know if showing your email will be sufficient as a copy or will they require a hard printed copy? Thank you!
DFB Sarah says
Kristina, checking into this for you.
Becca says
I have the same question as Kristina! Do we need a hard printed copy or is the email on our phone okay? Thanks so much!
