Yesterday we had our first experience watching Disney World’s new Character Cavalcades roll by at Magic Kingdom!
Instead of character greetings, parades, and fireworks shows (which have been temporarily put on hold), guests can enjoy these smaller processionals which are featured randomly throughout the day. That way, folks will still have the opportunity to interact and snap of few pics of their favorite Disney friends — but from afar!
And while Disney World has previously announced the names of a few of their new Character Cavalcades and places you can spot them, they’ve just shared even more information about these new entertainment offerings including where you’ll be able to catch them!
Keep in mind Disney World’s new Character Cavalcades aren’t scheduled and you won’t find times for them listed like you would for Disney World’s parades, shows, or nighttime spectaculars. Now let’s get into some new juicy DEETS!
Magic Kingdom
According to Disney, The Royal Princess Processional will be offered “several times daily,” and will include favorite Disney princesses throughout the streets of Magic Kingdom. Princess Merida will lead the way on her trusty steed Angus, followed closely by a gazebo float and crystal castle carrying Cinderella, Tiana, Belle, Jasmine, Snow White, Rapunzel, and others.
The Mickey and Friends Cavalcade will feature Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their pals daily. Yesterday it was Pluto, Donald, and Daisy, but its possible this might change depending on the day.
Some of the characters had on their 90th-anniversary celebration costumes for the special occasion!
We spotted Merida and Angus along with the rest of the Royal Princess Processional yesterday! Click here to see it!
Another Cavalcade we saw rolling through was the Fantasyland Friends Cavalcade featuring a hodge-podge of characters like Peter Pan, Alice, Mary Poppins, and MORE. Oh, and Gaston on horseback — somebody stop us from SWOONING!
The final two cavalcades are A Goofy Cavalcade (helmed by Goofy himself, of course) and Tinker Bell & the Lost Treasure. We must say, Tink is looking particularly sassy up on that giant treasure chest!
We also wanted to mention that we spotted Rabbit, Piglet, and Eeyore, and a few others yesterday. So you never know when more unexpected friends will show up!
There are some stationary distanced meet and greets too! Cinderella’s Evil Stepsisters will be perched on the balcony of Cinderella Castle in Fantasyland from time to time! You’ll be able to interact with Anastasia and Drizella while staying at a safe distance!
We spotted Buzz Lightyear inspiring guests in Tomorrowland…
…Stitch bringing chaos in the same spot…
…and Captain Jack Sparrow over in Adventureland. Oh, come ON. We JUST stopped swooning from Gaston!
Remember, these are just the announced characters and the random ones we were able to spot. You never know who might pop op or when you might see a favorite Disney pal!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Previously Disney told us to be on the lookout for characters cruising the waterways of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but now we know exactly who we can expect to see AND where they’ll be roaming! For Donald’s Dino Boat Bash Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Launchpad McQuack will wave to guests from their party boat as it sails from Dino Land U.S.A. to Discovery River. Goofy, Chip and Dale got in on the Dino fun too!
We also saw Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto yesterday as a part of Mickey & Friends Flotilla!
The Discovery River Character Cruise will also occur throughout the day, and guests will be able to see either The Lion King’s Timon and Rafiki…
…Or Pocahontas with Meeko cruise Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s waterways.
Disney also mentioned the “Discovery Island Drummers” will be a band of high-energy percussionists and will entertain guests on the shore with an energetic beat from aboard their boat.
And that they were!
Epcot
In Epcot, the new “Mickey and Friends World Tour” has kicked off! Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, and Goofy will be roaming the World Showcase at random!
Queen Anna and Elsa will also be venturing around the World Showcase, journeying from country to country in the “Frozen Promenade.”
There will also be a Princess Promenade where we might spot a few of our princess friends we can usually find around the World Showcase!
Outside of the official Cavalcades around World Showcase, a few more friends came along for the fun! We’ve spotted, for instance, Winnie the Pooh…
…. adorable as ever, waving to guests in Future World. And DITTO for JOY from Inside Out!
AND over in the United Kingdom pavilion, we saw a “practically perfect” Mary Poppins in the pavilion’s gazebo!
The always-charming Alice was among the characters we spotted as well…
Looks like we’ll be having a blast visiting the Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival’s food booths while watching some of our favorite characters too!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Out of all the parks, Disney World just released the newest details about Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It looks like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be offering up lots of adventures and says, “guests are likely to come across some familiar faces as they explore Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu.”
Heroes of the Resistance, including Rey, Chewbacca, and Vi Moradi, will be out on platforms above the garage in Black Spire Station or can be seen surveying activity around the spaceport where the Millennium Falcon has landed.
Are you ready to join the Resistance??
Meanwhile, a contingent of First Order Stormtroopers will join Kylo Ren in patrolling the landing platform at Docking Bay 9 beneath their TIE Echelon assault vehicle!
Of course, you’ll be able to find the most fa-MOUSE characters in the Mickey & Friends Motorcade.
The “& Friends” may include Chip ‘n Dale and Mouse’s best friend, Pluto!
Plus, some of the biggest stars from Pixar Animation Studios’ films will make their way down Hollywood Boulevard for the Pixar Pals Motorcade.
This Character Cavalcade includes The Incredibles, Toy Story pals, and more.
The “and more” included Sulley from Monsters, Inc. in our first viewing!
And for the kiddos, Disney Junior Stars Motorcade while come and go throughout the day featuring Disney Junior stars Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins, and Vampirina.
Their route also takes them down Hollywood Boulevard where you can spot them riding in colorful custom convertibles!
WOW! We are so stoked to spot all these awesome Character Cavalcade crews! We’ll be on the lookout for more of them as we continue checking out a reopened Disney World!
