Moments ago, we learned Disney World’s parking lot trams will not be operating for the time when the parks reopen.
And while Disney World has previously announced Disney Skyliner service will resume on July 15th, they’ve just announced a new important safety detail!
The Disney Skyliner debuted last year and connects several Walt Disney World resorts to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot. The ride vehicles, known as “gondolas” typically fit up to ten passengers. According to Disney, the Skyliner will only be loading one party per gondola once the service resumes on July 15th.
That means you and your crew will be flying high in your own private gondola! July 15th is also when Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot will be reopening to the general public.
It is also the first day of the Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival — a modified version of Epcot’s 2020 Food and Wine Festival. The festival will feature 20 signature global marketplaces spaced throughout the park. Click here to see which food books we hope will be returning!
We will continue to keep you updated on the transportation situation in Disney World as we learn more. So, stay tuned!

Are you excited about have a Disney Skyliner gondola all to yourself? Let us know in the comments below!
Susan says
Do you have to have park admission to ride the gondolas, or can you go to Disney property just to ride them?
DFB Sarah says
Susan, as far as we know, they won’t be checking for Park admission. In the past, anyone could ride them, but getting to a station was tricky. You can not go to a Skyliner Resort just to ride, so you’ll need an ADR to get into the Resort OR perhaps use Disney transport from another location in order to go to Skyliner Resort for a ride.
Wlfmsdf says
Plan to go in Dec. Both my wife and I will be using mobility scooters. Will 2 scooters fit on one gondolas. I know they will hold 10 persons.
DFB Sarah says
Wlfmsdf, I do not believe two scooters will fit in one gondola in terms of the depth and width of the floor space inside. You’ll likely be boarded in two separate (hopefully consecutive) cabins.
Ray says
I’m disabled. I like to park in Handicap section at Disney Hollywood Studios and ride the skyliner to Epcot.
My first day I could get back is next Friday.
will I still be able to?
DFB Sarah says
Ray, Skyliner is expected to resume operations on July 15, so that should work. I can’t say 100% because we haven’t seen how the system for parking and access to Skyliner is working at DHS yet, but I don’t know of any specific impediments at this time.
