We’ve seen a rollercoaster of news about Ample Hills Creamery over the past few months.
This third-party ice cream scoop shop has been a sweet staple on Disney World’s BoardWalk for some time and we were looking forward to its addition to Disney Springs. The road, however, has been rocky. After filing for bankruptcy and getting new owners, we heard that Ample Hills may no longer be operating in Disney World. Now, Disney has confirmed that Ample Hills Creamery will NOT open in Disney World.
Last night, there were reports that Ample Hills Creamery would not reopen its existing location or its upcoming Disney Springs spot in Disney World. We reached out to Disney and they confirmed these reports with us.
Disney shared that, “Our agreement with Ample Hills Creamery ended earlier this year. As a result, Ample Hills has closed at Disney’s BoardWalk and the proposed Ample Hills location at Disney Springs will not open later this year. We look forward to sharing more about the future of these locations at a later date.”
Looks like we’ve had our very last ice cream taco from Ample Hills in Disney World. We’re bummed that this scoop shop won’t be returning, but we are excited to see what might fill the spaces it leaves behind. Stay tuned to DFB for all of the latest updates!

This was one of my least favorite ice cream shops, and I won’t miss it at all.

But what of the WDW-exclusive flavor?!

I would complain if Ben & Jerry’s or Bruster’s ice cream replaced them…

I really liked this place a couple of years ago because they had a delicious coffee ice cream but our last trip they changed the recipe and I didn’t care for it.. Sad to see it go but it’s understandable why they won’t be returning. Disney really needs an ice cream place on the Boardwalk so hopefully someone else will step in to replace it soon.
