It can be tricky to get your kiddo to wear face masks all day long at a theme park, especially the littlest of travelers. With Disney World’s current policy stating that all guests ages two and up must wear face masks indoors and on most Disney transportation, it’s important to master the art of getting the littlest travelers to be comfortable.
Some tricks that may work on your little one is to bring masks they will actually WANT to wear, as well as masks that are SUPER comfy. Here are ten types of masks (along with tips!) we’ve spotted so far that we think the kids will be more than happy with wearing indoors.
Masks That DON’T Tie Around Their Head
In our experience, kids tend to be a little fussier when wearing masks that tie around the backs of their heads, especially when the fit isn’t “just right.”
Adults may find the masks that tie around their head more comfortable as it takes pressure off of the ears (and we found some highly rated ones on Amazon if you’re interested!), but for some kids, you’re better off going for masks with ear loops. And if your kid is fussy over the size of the loops not fitting perfectly, you can stock up on loop fasteners to keep the loops snug to their head.
Face masks are something you definitely want to make sure fit comfortably on everyone, especially the young ones!

Masks with Fun Colors and Patterns
Face masks are the new “must-have” accessory that gives us a unique opportunity to show a little bit of our personality, interests, and hobbies. The silver lining in all of this is that when you’re out in public, your face mask can be a new extension of your outfit!
The same goes for the youngest travelers. Before leaving for vacation, let your kids pick masks that include their favorite colors, patterns, and characters. Having them pick their favorites may make the mask-wearing process in the parks easier! There are TONS of mask options on sites like Etsy, so this could become a new fun activity to do with the family!

Masks Made With the Most Comfortable Material
Although your kid may be excited first thing in the morning to wear their favorite new mask, if it’s not comfortable, they may not be able to wear them during those long indoor lines. Sometimes it’s best to just stick with a basic black mask, like these on Amazon that come with lots of great reviews. They even come with a nose bridge wire which can be super helpful if you wear glasses.
Comfort is king! You could find the cutest masks in the world, but if it’s scratchy, doesn’t fit right, or is made with uncomfortable material, it could ruin your kiddo’s day.
If your kid insists on wearing a certain mask that has uncomfortable ear loops, invest in some ear protectors on Amazon (they’re only $7.99 for a pack of five).
We have heard that masks made with double gauze cotton are EXTRA comfy and feel almost like those soft muslin baby blankets — doesn’t get much comfier than that! Be sure to take a look at the materials used to make the mask and don’t base your decisions solely on the fun design!

Masks That Were Actually Purchased AT Disney World
Any old mask purchased online or at the local store is one thing, but how COOL would your kids feel if they had masks purchased AT Disney World!?
Masks are readily available and in-stock at many locations throughout the resort, including Marketplace Co-op in Disney Springs, gift shops in the theme parks, as well as shops around the resorts. Right now, masks are being sold at a price of $20 for a two-pack at some locations.
You can also purchase your Disney masks for a lower price ahead of your trip on shopDisney and present them to your kids when you travel as a fun pre-trip present.
NOTE: Disney masks run very small. So usually a medium is what’s fitting our kids the best from ages 3-10. Smalls should work for the 2-year-olds.

Marvel Masks
shopDisney has been selling branded face masks in packs of four in tons of fun patterns! Selling them in a set makes it easy when it comes to packing your park bag. You want to make sure EVERYONE in your travel party has at least two masks for the day, in case one gets wet or goes missing! For starters, does your kid have a favorite superhero? They may be more likely to keep their mask on if it’s reppin’ their favorite Marvel character!
The Marvel face mask set on shopDisney includes patterns of the Spider-Man logo, Captain America, Groot, and a whole collection of your favorite superheroes! You can get a set on shopDisney or look for them in Disney World! A pack of four costs $19.99 online right now.

The Star Wars face mask collection on shopDisney is one of our favorites, mostly because this set includes a BABY YODA mask. It might not be available online right now, but keep an eye out for them at the parks!

Cute Character Masks
Perhaps the cutest masks Disney came up with were the ones that make it look like you have the same face as your favorite Disney character! This Stitch-themed set features a mask just like that!
Wearing a mask like the one from this set available on shopDisney, makes it look like part of your face is actually Stitch. We know, it’s a LITTLE creepy. But it’s also cute at the same time, and your kid may LOVE it.
Beware! The Disney branded face masks run VERY small! Learn more here!

Mickey & Minnie Etsy mask
We spotted these Mickey and Minnie masks on Etsy that are designed specifically for kids!
Sometimes kids really dig stuff that was “made JUST for kids,” so you may want to consider shopping around for specialty masks that will have your kid looking forward to rockin’ an awesome Disney mask in the parks!
Keeping the kids happy and comfortable is already challenging enough in Disney World. Add on top of that the challenge of keeping a mask on their face while indoors and you may quickly find yourself in a sticky situation with some not-too-happy campers!
It’s critical to take time ahead of your trip to research masks and see how your kiddos react to wearing them for extended periods of time. Give lots of masks test runs at home and around town, and make sure they understand how important it is to keep them on when indoors at the theme parks! And keep in mind that mask policies in Disney World can change, so you’ll want to check and see what the policies are ahead of your trip.
