Another hotel has reopened in Disney World!
This morning, we took a tour around a reopened Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to see all of the changes. Now, we’re headed to the EPCOT resort area for a look at the health and safety measures in the Swan Hotel! Let’s dive in!
The first thing we noticed is that the Swan’s partner, the Dolphin Hotel is currently barricaded with several fences and signage noting that no one is allowed to that hotel. This is, of course, due to the fact that the Major League Soccer MLS is Back Tournament players are staying there!
Once inside the Swan, health measures were apparent all around the check-in area. The desks have plexiglass shields to protect employees, there are distancing stickers on the ground, and signs that request that only one guest approaches the desk at a time.
Speaking of signage, there was PLENTY. We spotted this one several times that encourages guests to keep their hands clean and keep an eye out for symptoms.
The Swan also has these signs with more health and safety reminders. We saw them posted regularly throughout the common areas.
Plus, like other Disney resorts, the lobby has some signs on the tables asking guests to remember to social distance when in the lobby area.
Most of the dining at The Swan is OPEN! The only spot that was closed was Chill Frozen Drinks, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for its reopening.
At Garden Grove, we noticed that there were plexiglass barriers installed at the check-in counter.
Kimonos had hand sanitizer stationed at the entrance. There was also signage posted around the resort that encourages guests to download the Swan and Dolphin app to receive resort information, dining information, and menus. Finding the app is made easier with the QR codes on the signs.
Il Mulino New York Trattoria (a hidden gem!) is open as well. Similarly, this spot had hand sanitizer and a QR code for the app.
At the Java Bar, we spotted physical distancing stickers throughout the queue.
So, there you have it! The Swan is back open with many of its old offerings available. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for changes, so stay tuned for updates!

Do we know if all the pools are open at the Swan and Dolphin?

Interesting! Thanks as always for the reporting, DFB Team :D. Heads up that I think the Dolphin will be closed for a while longer – I had a reservation for the Dolphin for August 28th-30th, but I got an email today saying they were shifting my reservation to the Swan and that the Dolphin would remain closed during my stay. (Maybe those soccer players decided to extend their own Disney vacation, haha!)

Disney lover, the lap pool at the Swan and the Swan side of the Grotto were open. Hot tubs were not. The bar at lap pool was open, too.
MVS says
We have a reservation August 20-24 and were moved from the Dolphin to the Swan hotel. Will the MLS players be gone by then? And will guests be able to walk from the Swan to the boardwalk or will the walkways be closed off yet by that time? Thank you for the reporting, as always! 🙂
DFB Sarah says
MVS, the walkways have been accessible on our visits. August 11 is the MLS is Back Tournament final.
