8-7-20 UPDATE: A previous title of this article implied that the Executive Chef made comments on the restaurants’ future. We have since reached out to Executive Director Eric Weistroffer for official comment and have updated this article accordingly.
Right now, you can grab a delicious croissant in the France pavilion in EPCOT at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie.
But the two table service restaurants in the France pavilion, Chefs de France and Monsieur Paul, remain closed.
Earlier today, we posted about the retirement of the France Pavilion’s Executive Chef Bruno Vrignon. With the Chef leaving, what does that mean for the two main table service restaurants?
Since this article originally ran, we reached out to Eric Weistroffer, the executive director of the France pavilion, and asked him about the reopening of the restaurants in France. Eric told us, “Yes, we will reopen, but we’re not exactly sure when.”
Due to the global situation, EPCOT and all of the Disney Parks closed for a significant period of time. Additionally, Walt Disney World’s cultural representative programs — the programs that staffed the EPCOT pavilion restaurants — were all canceled indefinitely.
Thankfully that hasn’t stopped some restaurants around World Showcase from reopening, like Biergarten Restaurant and Le Cellier. So the France pavilion restaurants should be able to reopen before the International Program is reinstated. Fingers crossed.
We’re looking forward to seeing the table service restaurants in the France pavilion open again in the future. Disney is also in the process of completing the new La Crêperie de Paris location that was set to open in the pavilion this summer, but no opening date has been announced on the new location at this time.
We will definitely keep an eye out for more delicious food news! In the meantime, we’ll be over here enjoying all kinds of yummy French treats from Les Halles! Au revoir!

Without the cultural representatives why eat in the “country’s “ it would absolutely not be the same. There’s so many other restaurants to enjoy until “normal” returns and eating in the country’s was top on the list for my wife and I.

We are VERY disappointed in Disney’s decision to keep the French table service restaurants closed. Yes, I know the French staff are home in France, and not allowed back to America yet, but what about other local restaurant chefs? We would up booking dinner at another EPCOT restaurant, only to cancel THAT one too because now the park is closing at 7 pm. Well, at least we save $100 for an overpriced meal in EPCOT.

Steven, I’m not sure if this was Disney’s decision or JBI’s. This is what the Executive Director said in the original article: “Although the theme park has opened, its attendance numbers have not been sufficient to fully reopen all the culinary operations, he said, or to bring back the furloughed staff.”
