Last year, Disney announced EPCOT would be undergoing a multi-year transformation.
The park would ultimately be divided into four distinct “neighborhoods”: World Celebration, World Nature, World Discovery, and World Showcase. Many shops, restaurants, and experiences located in Future World were closed or relocated shortly before the temporary closures occurred.
Thanks to Disney World Imagineer and Site Portfolio Executive Zach Riddley, we got to see a sneak peek of the brand-new pylons that just went in at EPCOT’s main entrance fountain. Today we finally had the chance to seem them IRL!
Just in case you need a refresher, here’s the artist rendering Disney has previously shown us of World Celebration’s reimagined fountain in its completed form!
Cast Members told us the new fountain looks even COOLER at night thanks to some awesome lighting effects! We can’t wait to stay late at EPCOT and see it all lit up!
Riddley also shared the fountain will be completed sometime later this year!! To learn more about EPCOT’s major overhaul, click here!
Disney World will be shortening its hours at all four theme parks next month! Click here to learn more!

I love them…they look great … and now I can only imagine how Disney will light them and how they will become a piece of the nightlife at the park entrance. I loved the water fountains on the other side of Spaceship EaTry when they were in their glory and lit up at night. I hope these new obelisks can provide the same sense of amazement when they get turned on and lit.cant wait to see the finished project.
