Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen and Jazz Kitchen Express reopened on August 12 as part of Downtown Disney’s phased reopening at the Disneyland Resort!
While we still have to wait a bit longer to get our hands on some Mickey beignets at the Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland park, we can finally sink our teeth into some fresh, hot beignets in Downtown Disney!
Ordering and Seating
Jazz Kitchen Express has all the health and safety fixings we’ve come to expect these days with any counter service dining location in Disneyland or Disney World. Floor markers kept parties six feet apart while waiting in line to order.
Once we ordered our food, more floor stickers were found for us to stand on while we waited for our food to be prepared. Both the cash register area as well as the food pickup area had plexiglass screens to keep everyone safe.
Once we got our order, we stepped outside. Currently, Jazz Kitchen Express has both standing tables as well as seated dining available.
When we were there, it wasn’t too busy, so staying physically distanced from others was pretty easy! If the tables are full, there are tons of designated seating areas around Downtown where you can take your food.

Food
Seeing that it has been MONTHS since we’ve been able to have a Disneyland beignet, deciding what to order was pretty easy!
We got a fresh batch of beignets, which meant they were piping hot. Watch out for your fingers when you grab these l’il guys if they’re coming right out of the deep fryer!
Once they cooled down just enough for us to enjoy, we were instantly swept off of our feet. These beignets are the real deal, you guys. As much as we love the Mickey-shaped beignets in New Orleans Square, nothing can beat a fresh, hand-made batch of beignets made just moments before.
You can add on dipping sauce for an extra $0.99, and you can choose between chocolate or raspberry. We chose chocolate, and it took the beignet experience to a whole different level!
Coming to Jazz Kitchen Express first thing in the morning and enjoying some warm beignets with a cup of coffee is a must-do when you visit Downtown, but these are obviously a great choice any time of day. We weren’t even bothered by the fact that we were eating hot beignets on an 85-degree California day!

Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Check-In & Seating
While we were floating on cloud nine after eating our beignets, we took a closer look at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen to see what new additions were present!
Ralph Brennan’s is currently accepting walk-up reservations only for lunch and dinner. Guests can line up at the host stand to add their name, or they can scan a QR code to be added to a waitlist via Open Table.
Once your group is called, you are brought to physically distanced tables. When we stopped by, we only saw Guests being sat on the bottom level, but there is signage in and around the upstairs area too, so it looks like both levels are being used for seating! Keep in mind that at this time, only outdoor seating is available.
We also spotted plexiglass screens that were installed around the perimeter of the outdoor seating area to protect Guests that are dining as well as Guests that are walking by.
Downtown Disney has another dining option for Guests looking to grab lunch or dinner during their visit! Whether you’re there for date night or you just need a quick bite to eat, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen and Jazz Kitchen Express are ready for you!
