Getting into the Disney Parks is a little bit more complicated than it used to be.
Now, guests need BOTH valid park admission and a Disney Park Pass theme park reservation. For Annual Passholders, that can be tricky as Disney Park Passes set aside for Passholders seem to go VERY quickly compared to the other admission categories. To help alleviate this, Disney has just added MORE Disney Park Pass availability for Annual Passholders in August!
We noticed that the remainder of August is now all yellow, meaning “Some Parks Available,” rather than greyed out, meaning “No Parks Available,” as it had been. Some days are even all green with added availability in all four parks — including Hollywood Studios, the most difficult park to get into right now!
Prior to this addition, Annual Passholders didn’t have many options remaining in August. All of the parks were full for most days of the month, with availability remaining for seven days in EPCOT only.
It’s pretty exciting when Disney adds availability for our Passholder pals. As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney Park Pass availability updates and best of luck making those reservations!

I’m wondering if this is because a lot of the Annual Passholders cancelled their passes effective 8/12 and that’s opened up the availability versus Disney adding the availability or perhaps a blend of both.

Unfortunately there was no availability left for Hollywood Studios in August for AP’s as of 12:25 Pm today. One hour after I received the DFB post in my e-mail about extra park reservations being added for AP’s. The only thing that seems to be left “extra” for us in August is EPCOT and not many of those.

As an AP living 40 minutes from Disney World I’m definitely not crazy about the park pass system . Once you get one it’s nice as the parks are not crowded but they’re hard to get , you can’t just go when you feel like it and it seems like AP’s are low priority in the pecking order to get passes.
I’m seriously reconsidering the renewal of my AP next month because of that and also because you cannot park hop either. These were the two major benefits (going at will and hopping) that made me an AP holder for so many years.

Greetings from NJ: We will return to the most magical place in October. We are scared (& NOT Halloween). Wondering, if your body temp is elevated and cannot enter the park; and staying on property, do you take Disney transport? If that a issue (I would think so). When you arrive; lets say Riviera resort, is your body checked again? Then you decide to eat quick-service, sounds like Trace accomplice. We do not want to be on CNN!
