Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is still closed at the moment, but is scheduled to reopen on September 21st.
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, however, are open, as well as several restaurants in the Grand Floridian. Today, we got the chance to eat at one of the restaurants in the Grand Floridian and found out about some super special secret menu items — you’ve got to check them out!
Grand Floridian Cafe is a table-service restaurant located inside of the Grand Floridian. It reopened some time ago, and we had the chance to eat there in June. While we were there, we noticed that one of our favorites — the Chicken and Waffles — was not unavailable.
We had been hacking this dish for a while with Mickey-shaped waffles or a Belgian waffle, and then Grand Floridian Cafe ultimately added it to their menu as a Hand-breaded Chicken Breast, Cherrywood-smoked Bacon Malted Waffle, with Sriracha-honey Drizzle. But, it was missing from the menu when we visited in June.
When we visited today, we saw that Mickey-shaped Waffles are still on the menu, but the chicken was not. But…a kind Cast Member who we spoke to revealed a very special secret to us. You MAY still be able to order the Chicken & Waffles if you specifically ask for them! So, you know we HAD to get them.
The chicken is different than what we’ve seen in the past. We got two thinner pieces, rather than a singular thick piece. But, it was so great to enjoy this combo AND they still have the Sriracha-honey Drizzle available as well which totally made our day!
Keep in mind, this is not officially on the menu. It’s a surprise item and definitely a delight if you can get your hands on it. We were able to order it today, but that’s no guarantee. You might be able to munch on this special treat, or they may not be able to make it for you — but, it never hurts to ask!
And that’s not the only secret item at Grand Floridian Cafe. The French Toast is also not on the menu BUT we were told you might be able to order some of that too if you ask!
We also saw that some of the glow cubes we’ve spotted in the parks were available for purchase here. They’re the same price as they are in the parks, and can be added to any drink.
So fun! We’ll definitely be on the lookout for more secret menu items and let you know what we find! Be sure to come back for all the latest Disney news!

Have you tried to get the Gland Floridian cafe sandwich since the reopening? It’s missing from the menu…and it’s my family’s favorite! Hoping it’s a secret menu item! ☺️

We are going there for brunch on October 7th. Why would they NOT have French Toast on the menu? I see on their website menu that the Eggs Benedict Trio has changed (no lobster thermadoor!?) but we were planning on the eggs and bacon dish anyway. I’ll have to ask my server when there if I can get french toast. Sorry, but not a fried chicken person so chicken and waffles isn’t for me. I guess, growing up in Philly, we didn’t do that (Southern?) dish. Also, I do NOT eat Scrapple (Google it) but do love my Taylor Ham (NJ thing).

Hi Diane! It’s showing as pending on our end which might mean that the confirmation email could be sitting in your junk/spam folder. If it isn’t there, we recommend using a different email address. I hope that helps!
