One of the best perks of being a Disney Visa Cardholder is being able to take advantage of special character meet and greets with photos at Disney Parks. However, when Disney World reopened, character meet and greets were no longer part of the Disney World experience due to new health and safety guidelines.
Because of these changes, many might assume that the Disney Visa Cardholder Photo Spots are no longer open, but we would like to remind you that this isn’t the case at all!
We recently wandered into the Disney Visa Cardholder Photo Spot at EPCOT, and it’s still open to guests with a valid Disney Visa card.
The first thing we noticed is that it has been repainted since the beginning of the year (and we spoke to a Cast Member who confirmed this). There are also markers on the floor, indicating where guests need to stand to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
The Cast Member informed us that most people assume that the Photo Spot isn’t open because the parks aren’t currently having character meet and greets. But as you can see, it’s TOTALLY OPEN. And the cool thing is — you can still get a photo with characters here!
You’ll pose for your photo (sans characters), and then Disney will digitally enhance your photo download with the characters standing right next to you! Pretty cool, right?
And it’s totally free! All you have to do is show your Disney Visa card to get your photos.
The EPCOT Photo Spot is open from 1PM to 7PM every day. The photo spot is located in the Imagination! Pavilion near the Journey Into Imagination with Figment attraction.
Although character meet and greets have returned to Tokyo Disneyland Resort, for now, Disney World is having awesome character cavalcades and unique character interactions instead.
This is a great way to get those Disney World character photo souvenirs! We’ll keep you updated on any other cool photo ops we find, too (like this Baby Yoda Photopass op because YES!).

Since it’s clearly social distances, can you remove your mask for the photo?
It would be so nice to actually have some good photos worth framing vs just for history

I was really lured in by this article because I have a Disney Visa. Disappointed that the characters are not really there. I am not planning to pay for memory maker this time, and that’s the only way you can get this photoshopped picture with a character. Leave it to Disney to find a way to extract more money from its customers.
DFB Sarah says
Cheri, at present, no.

Well it says that this is absolutely free, so good news there. It’s funny, I’ve had Disney visa on every trip I’ve made, but I’ve never taken advantage of the visa photo op spot. If I ever get to go again, I’ll def change that!

Do you know if the photo spot at Hollywood Studios has a similar digital opportunity during the pandemic?
Debra Dye says
We went today and it seemed Iike they were doing some interesting things for our photos. But when they loaded to my account it’s just us in front of a wall. No characters or exclusive magic shot like the cat meme we told us we were getting. They are terrible actually. Do you think they just forgot to add the characters?
DFB Sarah says
Debra, it’s possible. I’m not sure if a call to Disney would garner any results, but you could try. The number I find online is (407) 560-4300.

Do you have to have an Epcot ticket to access the cardholder photo spot?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Staci! You would have to have a ticket and park reservation for the Epcot Visa Cardholder Photo Spot as it is located inside the park.
