Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is now welcoming back guests after a temporary closure.
While the Villas at the Grand Floridian and some of the resort’s restaurants had already opened, the non-Disney Vacation Club guest rooms reopened today! We visited the hotel to see what things look like now that it’s officially reopened.
Let’s start with the gorgeous lobby! The incredible chandelier and fabulous 1920s aesthetics greeted us when we waltzed into the resort.
There is seating available in the lobby and the seats are spaced out to allow for distancing.
The tables in the lobby also had signs reminding guests of the new health and safety protocols.
There wasn’t much of a crowd when we visited — in fact, we almost had the lobby to ourselves.
We stopped by Basin, a store located inside the Grand Floridian Resort that sells natural bath, body, and haircare products.
The store has markers for guests to stand on at the checkout counter and a plexiglass barrier between guests and the Cast Member.
Let’s head out to take a look at the grounds of the resort!
As with the lobby, we didn’t encounter many guests as we were making our way around the grounds.
Definitely a lot of open space!
The pool is open to guests from 7AM-11PM.
There weren’t many guests in the pool area either.
If you had a kiddo in tow, they would have the slide all to themselves.
We swung by Narcoossee’s, a table service restaurant at the hotel which just reopened on Sunday, September 20th.
There were signs outside of the restaurant reminding guests of the new health and safety procedures, as well as a sign with a QR code that allows guests with reservations to use Mobile Check-In.
And even though Gasparilla Island Grill has already been reopened for a while, we decided to swing by for a little mid-afternoon refreshment!
And with that, we wrapped up our visit to the newly reopened Grand Floridian Resort! The crowds were pretty light on our visit, although that could change as more guests begin to check-in. We’ll continue to drop in to see what new additions make their way to the resort, so stay tuned for more updates!

Any idea on when / if Victoria & Albert’s might reopen, now that the resort is open again?
DFB Sarah says

Brittany says
Any update when the Garden View Tea Room might open?
Also, I’m pretty sure the Enchanted Rose Room is open, right? I maybeee saw a post from there but can’t remember!

Eric says
Did they happen to provide any update as to when 1900 Park Fare might reopen?
Steven S. in NJ says
We have Brunch Reservations for GF Cafe on October 7th so it’ll be fun to see how empty the place may be. By the way, did anyone else notice that the Lobby is missing the floral arrangements? Is that to keep people from sneezing, perhaps, or because the GF cannot get them shipped in from overseas? Hmmm….
DFB Sarah says
Eric, I haven’t seen this information yet.
