Mobile Order has been a pretty BIG deal in a reopened Disney World.
With the global health crisis prompting Disney to reduce contact between guests and Cast Members, Mobile Order has been heavily encouraged at quick-service dining locations in and out of the parks in order to reduce crowding and to limit guest contact. Today, Mobile Order is temporarily unavailable, so we’re taking a look at how restaurants are handling it.
We stopped by EPCOT’s Sunshine Seasons and Disney Springs’ D-Luxe Burger to check in on the way the lack of Mobile Order is being handled. At both spots, we noticed that the QR code “Place a Mobile Order” signs were still posted.
The entrance to both locations had a Cast Member present. At Sunshine Seasons, the Cast Member directed us to another queue for the walk-up registers. At D-Luxe Burger, we were told that guests could be escorted in one party at a time to order.
Both locations also distributed a menu for us to review while we waited.
The D-Luxe menu came with pictures!
For Sunshine Seasons, we hopped into the distanced walk-up queue and waited our turn. Even without Mobile Order, the line wasn’t too long while we were inside.
Cast Members explained that the Mobile Order feature wasn’t working due to the Wi-Fi.
For the rest of the day so far, we’ve been taking stock of the lines at different quick-service locations. We’ve seen varying lengths. For instance, Satu’li Canteen in Animal Kingdom had a looooooong line.
While Regal Eagle Smokehouse in EPCOT was a walk-up!
Each quick service location might handle this situation a little differently. But this is what we have experienced so far! We’ll be keeping an eye out for the return of Mobile Order, so stay tuned for the latest updates!

We were at Magic Kingdom ready for lunch when mobile ordering went down. It was extremely inconvenient as the quere lines grew in the heat of the day. But what really added to our frustration was that Disney has chosen for some reason to keep many eating options closed. Yet the park was quite full. As the parks become busier, please Disney open more restaurants!
