Recently, a Disney executive noted that Disney Cruise Line would likely be the last of Disney’s businesses to resume.
So far, Disney has suspended all departures through mid-December, and has provided lots of flexibility in terms of cruise date modifications for its guests. Now, Disney has made further changes to some of its policies for future cruisers.
Two important changes were made today to the current policies regarding Disney Cruise Line.
1. Final Payment
First, for all sailings through March 2021, the due date for final payments has now been temporarily extended until 60 days prior to sailing “for Guests booked in unrestricted stateroom categories.”
So, if you haven’t reached your final payment due date yet, you can now wait until 60 days prior to sailing to make that final payment for your vacation.
2. Cancellation Fee Schedule
Second, Disney has announced that their cancellation fee schedules have been temporarily relaxed for sailings through March 2021. Specifically, the schedule has been relaxed as follows:
- For Guests booked in non-Suite and Concierge categories — the cancellation fee schedule has been temporarily relaxed from beginning as early as 119 days prior to sailing to beginning 59 days prior to sailing.Â
- For Guests booked in Suite and Concierge categories —Â the cancellation fee schedule has been temporarily relaxed from beginning 90 days prior to sailing to beginning 60 days prior to sailing.
If you’ve got a reservation for an Inside, Outside, or Verandah Category with Restrictions, however, those remain nonrefundable and nontransferable. Be sure to check with Disney or your travel professional regarding exactly what cancellation fees will be applicable to you.
These changes are in addition to Disney’s current cruise date flexibility policy, which allows guests with cruises scheduled to sail on or before May 31, 2021, who booked their trip before October 31, 2020, to change their sail date up to 15 days prior to embarkation.
