Disney cast members are a huge part of any Disney vacation, and they’re very much in the news at the moment. It was recently announced that 28,000 Disney employees were scheduled to be laid off and many cast members remain furloughed.
Today, Disney World employees are spotlighted again as a plan goes into effect to implement pay raises for Housekeeping and Food and Beverage unionized Cast Members.
In September, Disney agreed to a plan that gave select unionized cast members a raise, and the Orlando Hotel and Restaurant Workers Movement Facebook page announced earlier today that raises were currently in effect for cast members in Housekeeping and Food and Beverage. The new minimum for Housekeeping is $16 per hour. The new minimum for Food and Beverage is $14 per hour.
These raises apply to almost 9,000 current Disney employees. Cast members who are still furloughed were told they will receive the raise when they come back to work.
The Workers Movement facebook page also mentioned that tipped Disney employees, such as restaurant servers, are set to receive a raise on December 27th of this year.
Although Disney World is not fully operating yet, there are still lots of cast members working hard to keep the parks up and running. We will continue to keep you updated on any information regarding Disney cast members.

Giving pay raise is great but there are cast members losing there jobs does it make any sense !

I agree pay raises are great but, I don’t think this is a good time for them any more than I think all this money being paid out on continued construction when cast members are loosing their jobs is wrong.
