Not too long ago, we were working on our McDonald’s Happy Meal Pixar keychain collection.
Now, McDonald’s is back at it again with some Marvel Studios Superhero toys, and we thought “Wow! Marvel toys! Hooray!” but the one we got yesterday was…terrifying (at least to us)!
There we were, so hopeful, making our way through the McDonald’s drive-thru. We got our Happy Meal and were so excited — for the toy and the food of course!
We opened our box to see what fun item we got inside and found…this.
Don’t get us wrong, we like Vision! We’re excited for the new WandaVision series to come out on Disney+ and there’s no denying he’s got some awesome superpowers, but something about this toy is just disconcerting. Like, is it those eyes? Or those somewhat realistic facial features on his large head on top of his smaller body? Like, seriously, this is the type of toy you fear will come to life at night and you’ll just find it sitting on your nightstand staring at you. In that respect, it might be the perfect toy for Halloween.
Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised though, this is the same McDonald’s that has turned the Happy Meal box itself into a strange looking little animated creature. Why, McDonalds, why?
You can try your luck at a McDonald’s near you and see what Marvel toy you get. Each Happy Meal at participating McDonald’s locations will have one Marvel toy in them for a limited time while supplies last. There are a bunch of different ones including Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Groot, and Hulk! Just look at how cute Groot is!
Each of the toys also does a little action — like Vision has some fist punches that he does when you push a button on the back of the toy. It looks like you may also be able to connect the bases of the toys together as you form your collection.
We’re excited to begin this McDonald’s quest and see what toys we can collect! We’re always on the lookout for more fun Disney news, so be sure to come back for more updates.

We got him on a recent visit with the 4 y.o. granddaughter. He was so creepy to me that he promptly went into the recycle bin!
Please consider passing toys along to another child (no matter how ugly or cheap you may find them) instead of tossing them out.
I appreciate that I’m not the only parent concerned about what’s going on with McDonald’s! My 5 year old is always excited to see what you he gets but this is just too intense for our household. Maybe in like 5 years he’ll be interested. I wish they had younger, more age-appropiate toys or set things into gender (like they used) 2-6, 6-10. Then you don’t have to feel like a “bad” parent or grandparent by sticking to your beliefs and keeping kids from experiencing too much too soon. Yes, every kid and family is different but that doesn’t mean people have to settle.
These Marvel toys are all pretty ugly. My daughter has gotten a few over thr past couple months and is always disappointed they don’t have more “girly” toys. I wish they would release something else already. They used to change themes every month.
