Disney World is always full of fun surprises, and part of the fun is when something unexpected pops up!
Haunted Mansion
And we just found the most fun and BEST refurbishment sign we’ve ever seen in the parks!
Let’s face it — refurbishment signs are hardly things to get excited about. They’re usually boring, just there to ask us to pardon their Pixie Dust while we can’t ride something. YAWN. Sometimes they have fun Walt Disney quotes, but…seen it.

But sometimes, Disney decides to put its unique spirit into its signs, and we end up with something like this Haunted Mansion-inspired message that we spotted at Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom today!
Refurbishment Sign
How cool is that? The only thing is…this sign has nothing to do with the Haunted Mansion (and believe us, we nearly freaked out when we first saw it!). We spoke to a Cast Member who told us that this is actually regarding the refurbishment of the Liberty Square Riverboat.

Both the Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island are currently closed for a lengthy refurbishment. According to the Disney World Refurbishment Calendar, both attractions will be unavailable through April 2nd, 2021.
(And when we asked a Cast Member — just to CONFIRM that Haunted Mansion wasn’t taking any downtime — he told us that the Rivers of America may soon be drained to accommodate the refurbishments taking place. So heads up, friends, if you want to take pics with those soothing waters in the background, you may need to do it ASAP.)
So despite the sign’s totally awesome theming, the refurb it’s warning of is nothing new. But we were still VERY AMUSED by the creative signage!

The riverboat queue area and areas around it are being used as queue for the Haunted Mansion, I believe that’s why they are using that particular sign there.
Will they be making it bigger????
