There are lots of exciting attractions coming to Disney World in the next few years and one of the ones we’re most pumped for is TRON Lightcycle Run.
Every time we’re in Magic Kingdom (which is a lot), we swing over to Tomorrowland to take a gander at the upcoming TRON Lightcycle Run coaster. Though much of the attraction is inside, we ARE able to see changes outside of the building!
Let’s check in on the latest progress! As you can see, the structural elements up around the exterior portion of the coaster are looking pretty impressive at this point. We can’t wait until this turns into a full-blown canopy!
Here’s a closer look at how intricate the scaffolding is. It’s crazy to see the attraction come together right before our eyes.
We’ve been able to see the archway into the building for some time and it still looks like it’s going to be an awesome element of this coaster.
This coaster is set to open sometime before Disney World’s 50th Anniversary in October 2021. As always, you can stay tuned to DFB for us to check in on the latest TRON work!

I am curious if this will really be finished by October. The reports are that they are not even working on it currently. When I was there at Thanksgiving week both on Monday and Friday of that week I did not see a sole working in the area. Hopefully that’s just temporary and construction can finish up in the next few months for testing to begin early summer. The other Disney Tron ride looks amazing in Shanghai and in my opinion to keep attracting future crowds these few thrill rides are needed at Disney to keep the thrill seekers of the families intrigued into coming back year after year to Disney World.
