We just learned that Disney World has opened up reservations through their big 50th-anniversary date in October, 2021 through the end of that year!
With the ability to book reservations and buy tickets through this time comes another necessity in reopened Disney World: Park Passes. And it looks like these are now bookable all the way into early 2022!
The furthest out guests can currently book is December 31st, 2021 but that can be the FIRST day of their trip — meaning you can technically book a Disney World trip in early 2022! You can book up to January 30th, 2022 right now, to be exact. But, keep in mind that trip would have to start on New Year’s Eve or earlier in 2021.
For guests choosing to book those late 2021/early 2022 trips, they’ll need Park Passes to go alongside their hotel reservations and tickets, and it looks like those are available alongside the newly opened booking dates! That means Park Passes can be booked through most of January 2022!
At this time, this seems to indicate Park Passes (and possibly the lack of Park-Hopping that they also represent) could be sticking around through 2022. Keep in mind things are ALWAYS changing at Disney World and that it’s entirely possible that they’re letting people book these now but could change things between now and then. It’s too early to know for sure. But for now, if you’re booking your trip over a year out, you can go ahead and snag those Park Passes! We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

I have a Disney trip booked September/October 2021 but won’t be purchasing tickets for some time. Disney 50th anniversary is during our trip do you think park passes are likely to sell out around these dates?
DFB Sarah says
Laura, there’s really no way to guess at this point, since it’s still about a year out. Sorry!

Hi, I will be booking my trip for December of 2021 but we stay at Shades of Green and they aren’t allowing booking into December yet. They are only taking reservations 1 year out:( Can we make the park pass reservations without our tickets or we must have a ticket to make that park reservation. Thank you!

I’m wondering about the 50th anniversary as well. I was planning on going and now my whole family wants to go but we want annual passes so we can also do Epcot’s 40th. With Park Pass reservations now available but no annual passes for sale, I’m concerned about how this will affect us and if we’ll even been able to go once they start selling APs again. Has anyone heard anything about new APs?

AJ, you are gold!! Thank you for the info via email. I called Disney (waited about 2 hours on hold, no big deal), added tickets to my resort reservation and made park reservations as well. So happy!!!

We booked a resort and tickets with the park hopper option for September 2021. Hoping that means Disney anticipates park reservations will not be required by then.

Hi DFB I have a trip booked in May (im hoping) and from the UK, am I right in saying I need to have my tickets before I can get park passes? Love your updates by the way!
George says
Hi, we are coming over from UK on 2nd October and I want to get our passes booked. The 14 day park tickets available dont include Fast Pass+. Is that suspended indefinitely?

We just booked resort and park tickets for September 2021. Tickets were available with the park hopper option which we got. We’re hoping this means Disney is anticipating the need for park reservations will end sometime next year.
DFB Sarah says
George, it is currently suspended indefinitely. We will update when there are changes.
DFB Sarah says
Mollie, yes, you’ll need tickets before DPP.
DFB Sarah says
Malea, nothing recent that I know of!
DFB Sarah says
Jackie, you need to have a confirmed ticket to make DPPs.
