Disney World reopened months ago, but many hotels and restaurants have remained closed or partially open. The original reopening date for the latest resort was supposed to be October 14th, but Disney recently pushed it back to October 16th.
Now, you can add Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort to your list of reopened Disney World spots!
Let’s take a look at all of the reopened shops, restaurants, and more to see what, if anything, has changed around the hotel.
Lobby
As you head into the resort, you’ll notice a few signs with information about health and safety procedures.
Like we’ve seen elsewhere in Disney World, lobby seating is distanced and there are small signs on the tables reminding guests to keep away from one another. One thing we noticed was this new colorful wall running along one side of the room.
Previously, this seating area was used for all guest check-in, concierge, and bell services before they were relocated to the Gran Destino Tower. We love how open and spacious the new seating area is now!
Shops
Panchito’s Gift Shop is open!
They’ve got lots of Disney merch available including some of the Halloween collection!
We strolled in to see if we could spot any new merchandise. Right now, there’s nothing new but a Cast Member told us that more is coming soon. In the meantime, we’ll just have to settle for the stylin’ Coronado Springs collection.
Dining
Many of the dining locations have reopened at Coronado Springs including Barcelona Lounge, Dahlia Lounge, Rix Sports Bar & Grill, Siestas Cantina, Three Bridges Bar & Grill.
Here’s a glimpse at the current menu at the now OPEN Rix Sports Bar & Grill!
The windows at Siestas Cantina were closed but you can still get all of the food and drinks at the bar.
Here’s a peek at the drinks menu!
Three Bridges Bar & Grill is open during its regular hours of 4:30PM to midnight.
So you can get your on-the-water dine on!
Some dining options do remain closed for now. Cafe Rix had gates down at all of the entrances.
Maya Grill is a unique and popular spot at Coronado Springs.
Unfortunately, this dining location remains closed for now.
Entertainment
For kiddos, the Explorer’s Playground is closed like other play areas around Disney World.
So you’ll have to wait to watch your children sliding around!
Iguana Arcade is closed as well.
On the other hand, the pool is OPEN! Pool chairs are socially distanced and lifeguards are on duty.
It is nice for Disney guests to have one more option of places to stay with the reopening of this resort. We will continue to update this post as we explore the resort! Stay tuned for more Disney World news and let us know if you have any questions about a reopened Coronado Springs!

I hope that Café Rix and El Mercado de Coronado (food court) open soon. If the gift shop is open, those food options should be too! Cafe Rix is a great place to get coffee in the morning, and gelato/pastries at night. El Mercado has an excellent rice bowl station, and a great place to have Mickey waffles for breakfast. 🙂

We’re staying at Coronado over Thanksgiving… bummed that the arcade isn’t open! Our boys are 12 and 15, and were looking forward to it! Any word on the evening campfires?

Excited for our first stay at a Disney resort and for it to be at Coronado Springs. Coming in December on a family trip. We were originally going to be at Port Orleans but moved to CS due to COVID-19 closures. Looking forward to our upcoming trip.
