Since Labor Day weekend, we’ve slowly started to see the parks become more crowded than they were right after Disney World reopened this summer.
According to Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek, the parks are still operating at a 25% capacity with guests. However, we have definitely noticed that weekends are noticeably some of the more crowded days at Disney World right now.
Historically, EPCOT weekends are usually busy, especially with its various events. Right now, the 2020 Taste of EPCOT Food and Wine International Festival is ongoing.
Today, we noticed that the area around Mexico was particularly crowded. We also saw long lines at the food booths, including the China Booth. Because the lines use social distancing markers that separate parties by several feet, these queues can become quite long.
Lines for other booths around World Showcase looked similar, with guests waiting their turn on each of the line markers.
With Halloween just around the corner, and the holidays coming up right behind that, we expect the weekends will likely continue to see higher crowds, especially with Annual Passholders and Florida residents traveling to the parks for weekend trips. We’ve already seen park pass reservations going quickly for the next few months for all four parks.
EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival is set to end on November 22nd, and the park will then welcome EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays on November 27th. We’ll continue to monitor the crowd levels at the parks and keep you updated on what to expect!

Yes, EPCOT tends to get busy at this time of the year, but I surrendered my annual pass in the spring, and I don’t have a reservation to enter, so for the first time in over 30 years I will not be able to visit. I am so upset and disappointed. I am a DVC Florida resident and I can’t get in… how sad

With the increase of people in the parks, can you tell me about the wait times for the buses? We will be there from Nov. 9th thru Nov. 23rd. My husband has a scooter and we will be staying at Saratoga Springs. In the years past, sometimes you had to wait thru multiple buses in order to get on with the scooter. I have not heard how they are handling the buses since the reopening. Thanks!!!

25%????

Darlene, buses vary depending on time of day. We have been on otherwise empty buses mid-day, but Park opening and closing timeframes can be busy. You may have to cycle through a bus or two depending on the number of scooters waiting. Buses are partitioned, and you can find more information here.
