For Disney World Annual Passholders, 2020 has felt more dizzying than an Alien Swirling Saucers ride cranked up to a THOUSAND. AP’s have been unexpectedly charged, they have dealt with the decision to cancel their passes on top of limited park availability, and so much more.
In the timeline of Annual Pass news, options, cancellations, and refunds, we have a feeling there might be light at the end of the tunnel!
After the whole world got knocked upside-down and Disney World closed its gates for an unprecedented amount of time, Annual Passholders were left with a dilemma: to cancel or not to cancel?
Then on top of that looming decision, there was the whole notion of navigating partial or full refunds! Suffice to say, this year has been a SAGA! Well, for those Passholders who opted to cancel and receive a refund, that time MIGHT be now!
After initially learning that refunds would be processed in September, we touched base with a Disney Cast Member for an update, and were told that refunds should be processed by mid-October! So like…now!
Hence, if you canceled your pass, now would be a good time to check your statement and make sure your refund went through!
We’ll continue to keep our finger on the refund pulse, but this seems like a promising sign for Annual Passholders!
We asked readers if you canceled your Annual Pass and here’s what YOU had to say!

We canceled DW’s annual pass several months ago and watched our Disney Visa card account with anticipating a refund. Interestingly a physical check (about $75) showed up in the mail earlier this month. Not sure why Disney couldn’t credit our credit card.

We received our refund in 10/1!

What a bummer! I know that my original payment has changed. Disney stated that it would take an extra month or so for paper checks so I had been waiting and anticipating my check by the end of this month. This is after they made a mistake and only canceled one of my family’s four passes, and now my refund will be delayed additionally for theirs which was super frustrating!

Have received SIX emails since May saying I will be getting a refund, but nothing yet. A bit irritated at this point. Wondering if I will have to send a SEVENTH request before I see some results.

It was credited to my credit card on September 28th.we got 4 months back from their earlier offer and 7 more on the aforementioned date. That means the 14 times we went to a park the month before the parks closed cost us about $10 per day for the 2 of us plus free parking. That was the first good deal we got from Disney in visits averagi g every year for the last 29 years 😎.
Peggy says
Have not received refund yet.

Any word on renewal of AP in 2021? Mine expires May1,2021. But heard we would not be able to renew can someone shed some light on that for me ? Thanks much

Still no refund after calling 3 weeks ago and waiting over 2 hours. Was told it was processed and id have a check in 2 weeks. They also canceled only 1 of 4 passes and couldn’t explain why nor the process that was used. Couldn’t tell how much my first pass refund would be nor the remaining 3, but said those would be delayed another 8 weeks. Disney’s people knowledge, ability to service accounts and process is a complete disaster here.

So an update to my original post. After still not receiving a check I called yesterday. The cast member did some investigating and apparently when your original payment is no longer valid it does not always automatically trigger a check and that request had to be manually made. MORE importantly for those of you who were also in the same boat as me where they did not cancel all of your passes, and instead only did one. When I called to correct it I was told they would back date the cancellation. However, when I called yesterday they had not. The cast member could actually see my refunds. When I asked the difference (thinking, if it is not much I really don’t care at this point I just want my refund) it was huge! So if you are in that situation as well I would double check! The difference was $180 on EACH pass for a total of $540 difference! I currently have an investigation number so hopefully they can get this worked out, but I would make sure you check!

Have been waiting since July!!! Have made numerous calls…same response, that it would be mailed in a couple weeks! What is going on? Have asked for a supervisor but they said its just a team.

We have been calling since April and still nothing. We used our Annual passes once. We are told it is processing but I am starting to think that we will never see that refund. Its a shame as we have been passholders for more than 10 years.
