Just over a year ago we first discovered our sweet, gooey, beloved Werther’s Original Caramel made fresh daily at Karamell-Küche in EPCOT’s German had gotten an adult twist. Boozy caramels were born.
We laughed. We cried. We ate a lot of caramel that day. It was a glorious day. Well, friends, the caramel-scented angels over there have worked their magic once again and given us a REMIX of the boozy caramel flight. Now we can chew our booze in four all NEW flavors! 😉
The OG version of this flight featured four caramels flavored each with brandy, whipped cream vodka, apricot brandy, and a cherry liqueur.
They were a delight. They took that scrummy caramel and made it even more interesting and flavorful. FYI — there’s not enough booze in these guys to get you tipsy (under normal circumstances!), but use your best judgment if you choose to share them!
So, back to the present. These guys got a R-R-R-REMIX BABY! Check em out:
Look at this hotness in all its glory (cue the “ooooh”s and “ahhhh”s):

The flavors are much more unique than the first go-round! First up, Mojito.
This was a great balance of sweet caramel with a hint of both mint and lime. The rum flavor wasn’t very pronounced, but it was an overall really well-rounded flavor that paired surprisingly well with caramel! The garnish is a drizzle of white chocolate. Next up was Tequila.
Points for creativity here but we were on the fence with this one. It had a kick of salt to it, which was nice (salt+caramel=perfection, basically), but the tequila flavor was a bit odd. If you love the taste of tequila, this will likely be a hit with you. We enjoyed it, but it was definitely the most unique of the bunch. The garnish here is a sliver of lime jelly slice. Next was Chocolate Cherry Blossom.
This was the only one dipped in chocolate, and that flavor was the most prominent that we tasted. We didn’t get too much of a hit of cherry/cherry blossom from this, but it had a nice flavor overall. Definitely the richest of the squares! The garnish is a tiny bit of dried cherry. Finally, we tried Limoncello.
We love lemon and all things tart, so mix that flavor with that delish caramel and this was basically perfection. If we could buy a slab of this alone, we would. It was surprisingly tart, creamy, and sweet all at the same time. SO good. The garnish was a little sugared lemon gummy piece.
These flights are a really fun snack to share between friends. The variety and unique flavors make a fun reason for a pitstop as you’re making your way around World Showcase. The flavors of this second edition flight are definitely more unique than the first set, but honestly, we liked them both. If we had to choose, this newer version gets the edge because of that delightful Limoncello square. For $6.49 this is a nicely sized snack we’re happy to get again!

Sorry, but that looks like a terrible way to treat a caramel.
