One of the most incredible things about Disney’s Animal Kingdom is how REAL the nature is.
From the safari to the tiger trail, wildlife is on full display, living their natural lives to the fullest! This is particularly evident with the birth of two ADORABLE additions to the kingdom!
There are a LOT of cute animals at Animal Kingdom (the flamingos! The otters!), but wait until you get a peek at two new bundles of joy! The park recently welcomed a baby giraffe and a baby aardvark, and we CAN’T STOP staring at the photos!
A Masai giraffe named Willow is the proud mother of a calf born on October 20!
According to Dr. Mark Penning, Vice President of Disney World’s Animals, Science & Environment department, the calf was six feet and 160 pounds when born, and is currently nursing and bonding with mom. In a few weeks, she’ll be ready to join the herd on the savanna, so keep your eyes peeled!
In the ant-eating world, we have a bit of an aardvark love story! A couple of aardvarks named Willie and Peanut, who were matched up by animal care specialists and documented for an episode of Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Disney+, have welcomed a munchkin into their lives!
Karanga, which means “peanut” in Swahili, is the first baby female aardvark born at Animal Kingdom, and the name is fitting because she looks like the most precious little peanut!
For now, the babies are bonding with their parents, but if you want to see more about this aardvark love story, check out the “Aardvark Love” episode on Disney+! It sounds like the aardvark version of Lady & the Tramp!
