We’ve made quite a few trips out to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to check out the construction progress, and we were even able to run into our old friend, Coconut Man, what a joy!
We’ve seen quite a few construction signs, entrance changes, and more at the hotel, and recently we spotted another update!Â
We’ve been keeping an eye on those beams on the top of the roof of the Great Ceremonial House at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. They’ve gradually been taken off…
…and when we visited recently, it looked like ALL of them had been removed!
Looks like construction progress on this part of the hotel is really progressing. We’ll definitely be back to see what other changes we can spot as the refurbishment moves forward.
As part of the construction going on at the Resort, guest rooms at the Polynesian will all be getting a Moana-inspired makeover…
…and the Great Ceremonial House will also be getting some refurbishment done to it. Once the construction is all done, guests will be greeted by a new porte cochere designed in the overall style of the Polynesian Resort. This is some concept art showing what the building will eventually look like.
There will also be other enhancements coming to the entrance area’s fountains and gardens. Throughout the construction, the Great Ceremonial House will remain open and guests can continue to stay at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. The Monorail station at the Polynesian will close temporarily, however, in early November. We can’t wait to see what this hotel looks like once all the construction is done! We’ll keep an eye out for more updates and let you know what we see.
