We’ve been trying TONS of unique chip flavors in EPCOT from the China pavilion!
We’ve sampled chips flavored like Fried Crab, Candy, Tomato, and even Rice Dumplings! But, today we found some more chip flavors that we hadn’t tried before and you KNOW we had to take a bite of them to see what they were like. We REALLY liked one of them; the other…not so much.
If you’re looking for a unique snack in EPCOT, there are lots of spots to choose from, but one of our favorites is The House of Good Fortune in the China pavilion!
Today, when we stopped by this spot we found some more fun chips. Can you guess which ones totally stood out to us? Ummm…yeah, we can’t turn away from a strange little face on a chip bag! So we grabbed both of the ones with faces on them and got ready for a snack battle.
First up, we tried the Spicy Hotpot Flavor chips, and…
…these chips were actually REALLY GOOD!
Unlike some chips that claim to be “spicy” but are really not, these had some legitimate heat to them AND lots of flavor! We could feel our mouth burning after eating these chips and, honestly, we LOVED it!
If you really like spicy food, this is a snack you will probably really enjoy. If you’re a spice-averse person though, you’ll want to skip out on this one.
Next up, we opened our bag of Salty Egg and Shrimp Flavor chips. Yeah, we’ll say that again, Salty. Egg. And. Shrimp. Would these be surprisingly great or absolutely disgusting? There was only one way to find out.
After trying these chips, we can say one thing for certain, these chips have a distinctly seafood taste to them.
If you’re a seafood fan, this might be a great treat for you. But for those who cannot even stand the smell of shrimp, beware! These may actually be one of the WORST things you’ll ever try.
If you try one of these chips (or other unique snacks) during your next Disney trip, we would LOVE to hear what you think!
For us, the spicy hotpot flavor chips were the clear winner! We’ll be back at EPCOT soon to see if we can find any more unique items to try. Stay tuned for more fun, snack news.

Lauren J says
When I lived in China Basi Tudou (tudou means potato) was a thing given to us furriners on a pretty regular basis. It was potato (not sweet potato. That would have ruled) stir fried in sugar. DO NOT EAT right when given to you unless you enjoy eating sugar that is boiling. But you have to eat it while it is still soft ish because once the sugar cools 100% it is super hard and you are using chopsticks.
So, y’know, China. Embrace the weird potato. Also get some deep fried scorpion on a stick at a night market.
