Surprising news! Okay…not really.
Splash Mountain has been the talk of the town lately. Due to it’s upcoming The Princess and the Frog retheming, it’s been one of the BUSIEST rides in a reopened Magic Kingdom, oh, and it’s been down a LOT. Well, guess what? It’s closed AGAIN.
We were strolling through Frontierland when we noticed a familiar sight. What’s this? Is it all of the Splash Mountain boats piled up at the end of the attraction? You bet it is!
That’s right, the attraction is down.
As we walked up we could hear Cast Members on the speakers talking to one another within the ride but we couldn’t quite understand what they were saying.
AND, as we looked up at the top of the attraction, we noticed a number of Cast Members actually out on the tracks. If you look closely at the right side of this picture, you can spot them.
As usual, the Splash Mountain team was standing outside to wave guests on. A Cast Member told us that Splash Mountain hasn’t opened at all today and that the closure is due to technical difficulties.
As a note, it’s a two-hour process for Splash Mountain to start the day. So, the attraction will need another two hours before it can reopen AFTER the technical difficulties are solved.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on Splash Mountain today and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s back up and running. Stay tuned!
