This week has been busy in the parks and online as there was a bit of a misstep on the Disney World dining reservation page. This past Tuesday, there was a VERY surprising amount of availability for popular restaurants whose bookings tend to sell out quickly.
After many guests made reservations for spots like Be Our Guest and Chef Mickey’s (including us!), the site went down with technical difficulties. We later shared that these surprise reservations were ultimately released due to a glitch and would be canceled.
Due to this massive glitch, Disney has stated that the guests who were affected by these cancellations will receive a $25 digital Disney gift card to apologize for the inconvenience.
While we shared all of these details yesterday, Disney has now emailed guests impacted by this situation. It’s important to note that reservations made outside the glitch will not be changed or canceled.
Although Disney hasn’t sent the digital gift card yet, we’ll be sure to provide you with more information about the situation! And, we’ll give you a look at everything else happening in Disney World as the holiday season kicks off in the parks!

I got my gift cards last night. There was no explanation in the email but I assumed it was because of the dining reservation glitch.

When I got the email that my reservation for lunch at Sanaa today was cancelled. I went right back into the app to see what else I could get, and lo and behold, there was my spot still available! So, I booked it … again.
It was delicious and we dined with two zebras staring at us the whole time.
And I got the gift card. I win!
