It’s finally here! CHRISTMAS is in full swing in Disney World (and we’ve got our Santa hats ready to go)!
Since the parks have officially kicked off the season today, we’ve seen treats and decorations take over each of the parks. While we’ve been in the Magic Kingdom so far today, we’ve had Sugar and Spice Churros as well as the Twice Upon a Cupcake.
And, the Pistachio Chai Tea Float at Aloha Isle might look festive, but we weren’t too sure about how all its ingredients would work when they were mixed together. Disney has, after all, have a long-standing fascination with pistachio-flavored floats. Who else remembers the TOTALLY bizarre Cherry-Pistachio Float served over frozen hot chocolate from last Christmas?
Yeah. That one was straight-up bizarre. This year’s version of a pistachio-flavored float, however, is pistachio soft-serve placed on top of a spiced chai tea complete with a red velvet cake pop ornament to garnish.
At least we can credit Disney for being consistent because this float was, in a word, weird. It’s a bunch of different flavors and we aren’t exactly sure who put them together. Don’t get us wrong, each of these flavors all good individually but we don’t know if they really go together. They don’t NOT go together, but we left feeling more perplexed than satisfied.
Both the pistachio AND the chai tea flavors came through very strong, so if your fans of both, this float might be a runaway hit. For everyone else, it may be a real turn-off. One other thing we will point out is that for a float, this one is NOT overly sweet, so folks may enjoy the “lighter” feeling that this dessert has!
If you want to try the Pistachio Chai Tea Float for yourself, you can find it over at Aloha Isle for $6.49 now through December 30th for the holiday season! Unfortunately, this strange menu addition has seemed to at least temporarily replace our beloved Kakamora Float! Why, why, WHY can’t we have both options? The Kakamora Float was, after all, one of Disney’s holiday specials last year!
As we continue to make our way around Disney World to show you all the treats in the parks for Christmas, we’ll share more of our thoughts and reviews with you!

Anyone know the ingredients? Trying to see if it’s gluten free. I know the cake pop isn’t but checking in the float for my celiac daughters

When was this reviewed because my friend had the kakamora float yesterday. 🤷🏻♀️
Topher+Kersting says
Pistachio and cherry isn’t bizarre: It’s the classic, legendary ice cream combination called Spumoni (with either vanilla or chocolate).

Venessa, we tried this float on the 6th.

Eda, I’m not sure if it was labeled as such, but Dole Whip is generally gluten free (and dairy free). You would want to ask to see the ingredients list before ordering.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this float! I was not a fan of the cake pop though.
