Our love for Disney snacks goes waaaaay back!
In fact, some of our fondest childhood memories from trips to Disney World involve enjoying a sweet (or salty!) treat while strolling through the parks! But which of these eats have withstood the test of time? These are the Disney World snacks we had as a child that we STILL love to this day!
Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars
The Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar might just be the most iconic Disney World snack — at the very least, it’s definitely up there! We’ve even seen other snacks dressed up as Mickey Bars! The vanilla ice cream with a chocolate coating is a relatively “basic” flavor combo, but it’s still delicious. Hey, there’s a reason it’s a classic, right?
So, as much as we love the “fancy” ice cream options in Disney World like the Ice Cream Martini in EPCOT and the Kitchen Sink over at Beaches and Cream, a good old fashioned Mickey Bar will always have a special place in our hearts (and stomachs!).
Did you know you can find Mickey Bars in the grocery store?? Click here to see where we found them — and how they stack up to the Mickey Bars in the parks!
Popcorn
There’s something about enjoying popcorn in the parks that just makes it taste different. Or maybe it’s just the CRAZY amount of salty buttery goodness that’s on Disney popcorn! Either way, we look forward to grabbing a bucket of popcorn just as much today as we did on our childhood vacations!
Did you know the popcorn is actually vegan?! Yep, the butter used isn’t made from dairy, but the flavor is still on point. Plus, we can get a little extra touch of fun with the adorable popcorn buckets that Disney releases — a souvenir and a snack all in one (gotta love unlimited $2 refills on your trip too!).
This Simba popcorn bucket might be the cutest thing you’ll see all day!
Mickey Pretzels
This treat proves that everything tastes better when it’s Mickey-shaped! Big, soft, salty pretzels are a must for us. They may not have shown up in Disney World Mickey-shaped until we were a bit older than what we’d graciously consider “young” — they did just appear only back in 2011 — but Mickeyfying and snack is A-OK in our book!
Mickey Pretzels also tend to feel a bit more substantial and filling than some of the other snacks around the parks, which makes us appreciate this gem even more!
These Dooney and Bourke bags are covered in Disney snacks (including Mickey Pretzels!)
Caramel Apples
This dessert is super messy to eat, but it’s worth the effort! Caramel apples are made fresh at several locations across Disney World property, including Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Candy Cauldron in Disney Springs, to name a few!
And this treat has more than just great flavor going for it — they’re basically works of art now. No more quick dips in caramel and calling it a day (you CAN still get those more simple apples though!). We’ve spotted caramel apples in special and seasonal designs like Aladdin characters, snowmen, and even other Disney snacks like popcorn! It just makes this snack all the more fun to enjoy!

Mickey Waffles
Ah, the breakfast of champions! Of course, the kiddos can’t start their day at Disney without indulging in a classic Mickey Waffle. But even now, we still appreciate the sweet, crispy goodness that these lil’ guys bring to the table — literally!
These days, we can take this childhood favorite to the next level! Did you know you can now find Plant-Based Mickey Waffles in Disney World? From Mickey, to Minnie, to Simba, and even Stitch, you’ll actually be harder pressed to find a waffle NOT shaped like Mickey or a fun character in Disney World (they DO exist…though sometimes they’re stuffed with crispy chicken or Nutella!).
Are there any places in Disney World that serve breakfast all day? Our team investigated, and here’s what we found!
Hot Dogs
We have vivid memories of strolling down Main Street, U.S.A. with a hot dog from Casey’s Corner in hand (or, if you’re dinosaurs like some of us — J/K! — maybe you remember it as Coca-Cola Refreshment Corner!). Just like the Mickey Waffles, we love that we can also elevate this nostalgic treat by opting for one of their frankly MASSIVE loaded hot dogs!Â
If you choose to forgo the standard dog with ketchup, mustard, or relish, you can opt for one doused in fun fixins like mac and cheese. We’ve seen delightful specialty hot dogs pop up seasonally, like the Hades Hot Dog, Buffalo Chicken Hot Dog, and Loaded Mashed Potato Hot Dog (which actually sounds like something we would have dreamt up as a child now that we think about it!).
Did you know there used to be a “Cheetos”-inspired hot dog at Casey’s Corner??
Cinnamon Rolls
You know that awesome feeling of still being a half-asleep kid in the Magic Kingdom fueled only by excitement? We’ve been there. And we’ve also been there where our parents were trying to get SOME sort of food into us before we ran around the parks for the entire day. Enter the GIANT Disney World Cinnamon Roll! Guests can grab cinnamon rolls at numerous places around Disney World. We’re still sad that our former go-to, the giant cinnamon roll at Main Street Bakery, is no longer on the menu. BUT, we’ve managed to find several worthy replacements!
The Cinnamon Roll at Gaston’s Tavern and the Colossal Cinnamon Roll at Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery both still give us the warm-and-fuzzies!
But really, you HAVE to check out this Colossal Cinnamon Roll!
Cupcakes
Remember when cupcakes were just…cupcakes. They weren’t massive tiny works of art like we see in the parks now?! If anything, we think Disney World’s cupcake game has gotten even BETTER over the years! In recent years, there has been a huge focus on creating pretty, “Instagramable” cupcakes, and we’ve seen some incredible designs!
And while this trend has admittedly produced a few cupcakes we weren’t so crazy about, there have also been some HUGE winners, like the Rose Gold Minnie Mouse Ears Cupcake and the Monorail Cupcake!

OG Butterfinger Cupcake
A few years ago, we were super bummed when Starring Rolls Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios closed pretty abruptly. We were especially concerned since it was home to one of our favorite treats, the Butterfinger Cupcake. But thankfully, we can still snag a modified version of the Butterfinger Cupcake at The Trolley Car Cafe!
This is another one only a few of our team members can actually say they were all that “young” when they enjoyed it — we first found it back in 2009! We might not love it quite as much as the original (give us ALLLL of the icing!), but this version still gets the job done!

While we’d like to think that our tastes have matured since our childhood trips to Disney World, there are some things that don’t ever seem to change — including our love for these incredible treats! So, as much as we enjoy experiencing the signature dining and inventive menu items in Disney World, we’ll always have room for a good ole’ Mickey Bar or some fresh popcorn!

Essie says
The most incredible cupcake I ever had in Disney World was the Mocha Cappicinno cupcake that I think I got in the Studios. I tried to take a couple home, but they didn’t travel too well! They had the most amazing flavor; they were delicious.
